As a real pho connaisseur (I was born & raised in Vietnam) I must try the crystal special pho. So worth it! The broth is really delicious, lots of high quality various beef meat & the star of the pho was the beef rib, which is very rare to find anywhere in a pho restaurant in Montreal. Their cha giò too is authentic (made with rice leaf) & tasty.
I bought 2 Banh Mi to go & they too were fabulous! For sure I will come back the next time I visit Montreal!

Pho was really good & very reasonable price! I really liked that they gave real chilli pieces to add to the broth as it's more authentic & the spicy hits much better than siracha
Take this from a Vietnamese foodie: you must try their food especially their Bánh Mì! This restaurant has become my top fav after the renewal. The price is very competitive, food tastes authentic & not too salty. I believe it is a family run restaurant, & staffs are hard working & very welcoming. Small diner but clean & bright. What is not to like?
I recommend Jambon or Meat Balls Bánh Mì, or the popular vermicelli with grilled pork & a crunchy roll.
I had less than two free days in Canada & wanted to try as many local cuisines as possible. However, this place was so good that I ended up eating here twice.
Right upon arrival, I was welcomed with a complimentary cup of delicious tea & the food was awesome.
Apparently there is a new owner for this restaurant & honestly the taste is still the same. I ordered Number 41 & it is the best guys. They also have banh mi & its good too. You guys should come

Ce restaurant est devenu pour moi un endroit confortable. Même après avoir essayé plusieurs autres endroits proche, je finis toujours par y revenir & ce n'est pas pour rien !
Les points forts :
Leur soupe est, sans exagérer, l'une des meilleures que j'aie goûtées. Toujours bien assaisonnée, servie chaude, avec des ingrédients frais. C'est réconfortant, savoureux & les portions sont généreuses. Idéale autant en hiver qu'en été. Le service est généralement rapide, même quand le restaurant est un peu occupé. Mais ce que j'apprécie surtout, c'est le personnel : souriant, accueillant & très gentil, à chaque visite. Leur constance dans la qualité du service est remarquable & c'est ce qui fait que l'on s'y sent bien.
À améliorer :
Le principal point négatif, c'est le mode de paiement, ils n'acceptent que l'argent comptant. C'est un détail qui peut en rebuter plus d'un, surtout dans un contexte où la majorité des clients paient par carte ou téléphone. Ce serait vraiment un plus d'offrir des options modernes. La décoration intérieure est assez basique, voire démodé. Ce n'est pas un restaurant au style raffiné ou tendance, mais plutôt un endroit simple. Cela dit, l'ambiance reste agréable, calme & authentique ce qui contribue aussi à son charme.
Conclusion :
Si vous cherchez un lieu sans prétention, avec une bonne cuisine maison, un service chaleureux & des prix raisonnables, c'est une adresse à connaître. Pensez juste à passer au guichet avant de venir !

Je viens manger ici quelque fois par mois, & c'est toujours un délice! Le riz à la vapeur, avec la viande & leur fameux rouleau c'est un plat incontournable de montréal! Pour le prix de 13$ les portions sont plus que généreuse. Je reviendrais c'est certain!
I'm incredibly sentimental about this place as I used to come here as a student in 2003-4. I still order the same thing & it's still fab (Bun sa or number #41). Best spring rolls ever. Unpretentious & hope it stays that way.
Je vais dans ce restaurant depuis plus de 20 ans à chacune de mes visites à Montréal. C'est LA meilleure place pour la soupe-repas & les rouleaux impériaux !
Nous sommes des habitués depuis presque de 30 ans. Nourriture toujours aussi bonne. Le neveu a repris la business suite à la retraite des propriétaires initiaux. Il a su consever & même améliorer le goût tipique des mets vietnamiens. Nous avons commander des combos. La soupe d'entrée est copieuse & délicieuse. On y retournera. 🥢🍜
Très déçu, cela fesait plusieurs années que je n'y étais pas allé & la qualité a beaucoup descendu , mon rouleau impériaux était vide, juste un peu de chou, pas de viande. Comme si je mangeais que de la pâte frite. Le plat était correct mais 18$ pour un simple plat sans à côté, le midi, je trouve ça vraiment décevant, je n'y reviendrais pas.
