J'en ai essayé plusieurs ailleurs, mais aucun n'arrive à la cheville de celui-ci. Sans aucun doute le meilleur pho de Montréal, rive nord & rive sud confondues.
Great flavour broth, not salty, just right.
Friendly, quick service, third time here.
Got the medium Chicken Pho this time.
Complimentary tea every time.
Way better than pho bang new york across the street.
I grew up going to an incredible authentic Vietnamese place called Pho Barclay, when I was 15 they closed shop & moved away. For almost 6 year I have been looking for a bowl of Pho which compares to their level of excellence. Pho Bac has done it, what an outstanding bowl of pho accompanied by such a lively & familiar feeling atmosphere of tight seating & rich smells coming from the kitchen. If I had one night in Montréal City, this is where I would have dinner 100 out of 100 times over.
Dirty place. Pho overrated. Spring rolls might as well be vegetarian with little pork & all carrots.
Confirming the terrible smell. Food is mid, the pho is much better across the street at Pho Bang. The beef was just not fresh & tasteless.
Want a bucket-load of delicious pho served to you in 2 minutes for the lowest price in the city? Pho Bac will deliver. Don't bother with the fresh rolls though, just order a bucket of pho.
Easily my favourite Vietnamese place in Montreal. I've been coming here my entire life! Update: still unrivaled. Update #2: currently live in Ottawa & have found a place that *just* surpasses this, but Pho Bac still has my heart
Ordered 3 pho for take away on Christmas night. Very hard working people. The restaurant was a bit dirty, but the food was nicely packaged & prepared very quickly. They took credit card.
Good service, but I know two other places where the pho is better & the place is cleaner.
Hard to enjoy your pho when the resto smells of toilet. Soiled toilet.
No frills Vietnamese restaurant in Chinatown with a wide variety viet menu. The spring rolls were fairly good & so was the pho. Interesting that they give you lemon (& not lime) & also no jalapeno.
My family & I were drawn to this restaurant when we walked past it & the aroma coming from it practically dragged us in there, & unsurprisingly, the food here did NOT disappoint. The pho & the crispy noodles were the best I've ever tried & for an amazing price. If I ever come by to montreal again, I will no doubt stop by Pho Bac again, it was truly the highlight of my trip!
Authentic pho 100%. I'm from the west coast, visited in 2019, had a bowl that made me want to come back for round two. Finally got a chance to visit in Oct 2024. Unlike most places, the broth here is hearty & not overly salty, the meat is tender, & the proportions are extremely generous. An XL bowl size is a good amount of food to share with someone. Hai, one of the people who work there, actually remembered me from five years ago. We had a good chat before we left. I'm writing this review from Vancouver because I'm hungry & thinking about Pho Bac. I can't wait to go back. This is the place for pho. It's just incredible.
We chose Pho Bac on a whim after a quick search while visiting Montreal, & wow, we were not disappointed. The food was amazing, the service was great & helpful. Would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants a great Pho, that's full of flavour & very delicious.
Large Filling Portions, Poor Service Going to restaurants & trying new foods is a way to immerse myself in new cultures, & after years of being urged by a friend to try out Pho, I caved in & went to Pho Bac. Upon arrival, we sat quickly &, within minutes, were given some starters. Our server for the day from the beginning of our time there till the end seemed annoyed or disinterested, & when I asked for some information regarding some menu items, he seemed to be annoyed & just nodded to anything we asked for. Aside from the service, the food was okay, & the 5 sauce & spring roll combo were lovely, however. The main let a lot to be desired, the sauces provided were decent but it didn't feelvlike there wa a tonnof flavour. I appreciate the large portions & competitive pricing of the menu options, which is rare in this economy.
