Review Summary

Peel Pub is widely regarded as a staple in downtown Montreal, praised by many for its welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and updated interior following its recent reopening under new ownership. Patrons frequently highlight the establishment as an ideal destination for enjoying affordable pub fare, cold beer, and watching sporting events, particularly hockey games near the Bell Centre. While the majority of feedback emphasizes excellent service and delicious food, some visitors have noted challenges with overcrowding during busy matches and inconsistencies in service speed. Overall, the experience is described as a great spot to gather with friends, though opinions remain mixed regarding whether the new iteration captures the same essence as the original.

Cheap & well made drinks. Decent atmosphere great spot to catch a game. The 5 stars come from the service. Absolutely great felt very welcome at anytime of day. The bartender (Ernest) is a great vibe, there are plenty of bars in Montreal but this is now on my list.

We had a great time watching the Habs game last night but the place was too packed. Busy is awesome but when there's so many chairs that your server can't get to you & as such you can't get drinks or food - that's tougher. I would try is again but I would try & stay on the main floor. We were upstairs & it's a bit of a forgotten realm so it's slower. I get it, the servers have to go up & down the stairs so it's harder. Decent spot overall!
