Review Summary

Okane Sushi Bar is described as a reliable go-to for fresh, generous portions and solid sushi, with many noting friendly service and a welcoming, homey vibe. The majority of reviews praise the freshness and flavor, the variety of dishes and the value for money, including strong takeout praise. At the same time, some diners report issues such as soups that feel a bit watery or bland, occasional order mistakes, and a dining room that can feel cold due to heating problems in an older building. Suggestions for improvements include better temperature control and attention to billing, though these are not universal experiences. Overall the restaurant is seen as a hidden gem by many and a quick, satisfying option, while a few reviews feel there are stronger choices nearby.

I took my sister & her kids here. They were down from Toronto. The soups were watery & lacked flavour. The sushi was good but nothing wow. The restaurant was literally an igloo it was freezing & when we asked why they said it's an old building & the heating doesn't work properly. They should get some portable heaters & place them in strategic locations so that clients aren't cold. We had to eat our whole meal with our winter coats on. The service was good we really enjoyed being served by Peter he was very funny & took care of us well but some mistakes either from him or the kitchen on our orders. All in all many better places around

Service très très très long , on était que 2 clients à l intérieur du restaurant. La soupe était froide . En plus de ça le serveur exige 15% du pourboire

Sooooo delicious. We were greeted by Peter & were instantly impressed! The miso soup was a great starter, & the Combo B for 2 was an instant hit! Fresh & delicious with generous portion of sashimi. Definitely one of new favorite spots to eat!

This was a disapointing, unfortunately. Usualy I don't take the time to write any reviews, but this restaurant does not deserve any stellar note. I had high expectations from the 4.3 average note on restomontréal, but first thing I noted was the dirty tablecloth we had at our table. Then, the cold soup that had to be rewarmed & came back barely hot. Then, it was the main dish, (we ordered thai stir fry), tasty, but oily, very oily. Finally, the tea with very few leaves that was very pale. On the other hand, we tasted sushis that were fairly good, & the fried banana was good too. But for the 70$ bill for two, it didn't make it. Even the water in the restrooms was ice cold, no hot water.

Maybe I would go to have the sushis for takeout, but I would never dine in there again.
