I had to have a Montreal Smoked meat sandwich while I was in Montreal for the weekend. I had the Ruben on a pretzel bun & was not disappointed in the least! Best I've ever had! Took a little longer than I was expecting because it wasn't busy, but it was well worth the wait! The fries, coleslaw & pickle were all delicious as well. Friendly service & clean place. Will definitely go again next time I am in the area ✨💫

Came all the way from downtown because I grew up in VSL & wanted to go to Nickels. Used to go almost every weekend in my childhood. Today November 5, 2022, arrived & requested a booth. There was two booths empty but not cleaned & the waitress told me that she needed 5min to prepare the booth table for us. I told her no problem, I will wait. Then, 2 guys showed up & she immediately cleaned one booth table for them & gave it to them. I found that disrespectful & we left. It's a shame that she did that but for whoever it happens to them luckily there's a restaurant in the same strip called L'oeufrier. People are nice, respectful & the food is great.

The food is superb & the service is even better. We regularly have Lotfi as our waiter & he is INCRECIBLE - FRIENDLY HELPFUL & INFORMATIVE. He makes our regular visits an absolute pleasure. His female associate is also very friendly & full of smiles. Sorry that I don't know her name

OMG what a bad restaurant. I ordered a hamburger with the fries & slaw. The wait of over 35 minutes was explained by the waitress: "you know nothing is frozen here... lol... no wonder it was soooo dry & burned & cold!
The coke was flat, the bun was cold, burned meat & cheese I did not ask for.
The waitress is always full of excuses. My mother in law liked her smoked meat.
There must have been 10 persons in all & the waitress was overwhelmed.
Would not eat there even for free
Service is slow amd annoying with excuses.
Save your bucks.

The place was completely empty yet the waitress was very slow (dragging her feet) & we had to ask her twice for water. & the food was bland & cold.... why?

Est-ce que c'est seulement le Nickels de Saint-Laurent qui est mauvais ou la qualité de Nickels baisse depuis quelques années? La nourriture n'était pas à la hauteur de mes attentes, trop fade, & le service, correct mais sans plus.

Fantastic early bird breakfast.

The girls on the floor always have a smile & a coffee refill close at hand.
