Review Summary

Messorem is widely celebrated as a premier destination in Montreal, particularly appreciated for its exceptional selection of craft beers, with a strong focus on IPAs, sours, and unique smoothie options. The brewery features a vibrant, spacious atmosphere that is especially popular during the summer months due to its large, pet-friendly outdoor terrace located near the canal, making it a favorite stop for cyclists. While the majority of visitors praise the festive energy, high-quality drinks, and satisfying pub food like smash burgers and popcorn chicken, some patrons note that wait times can be long during peak periods and that the popularity of the space can lead to a crowded and occasionally loud environment. Overall, it is considered a must-visit spot for beer enthusiasts who enjoy a lively, social, and industrial-chic setting.

Messorem is one of my go-to spots for beers in Montreal. Superb selection of top quality IPA & lager. & they serve food, too!

Visited on August 22, 2020, in early afternoon. Located in the upper part of Côte-Saint-Pierre, between the Lachine Canal & Autoroute 15, for cyclist it's half way between McAuslan Brewery & the Atwater Market. The brewery is next the a aqua (with some white & rust) water tower, which explains the colors on the logo. Street parking only. They are in a former industrial building, with graffitis that was there before they opened. Quit a large patio with aqua picnic tables & a few Adirondack/Muskoka chairs. The inside has a long bar, a few lounge sofas, not much more sitting places because of COVID-19 (not stools at the bar for now), it looks industrial with a few art works. Because of the pandemic, service is at the bar only. Quit a small food menu, a few mexican stuff, some hot dog & snacks. More than a dozen, maybe 20ish beers on tap. You know the saying "variety is the spice of life", well you won't find it here, about 90% of the taps are some forms of hazy IPA, there are a few gose (sour salty ales) & a larger, but that is it. Fans of the New England style will be happy, until they are pass that phase!

Tough to find a better IPA in Montreal. Them & BreWskey are top tier. They should really sell single cans & mix packs though. All other top breweries do it. Gotta remove 1 star until they fix that

We stopped here fr the first time during our stay in Old Montreal. It was ~15-20 minutes from our hotel so we opted to drive. Plenty of street parking was available. It is a large place with plenty of outdoor & indoor seating. We had a NE IPA & a gose & really enjoyed both. There were so many to choose from & while flights weren't available, they were happy to let me try the gose before ordering. It's a comfortable setting, great customer service & delicious beer. We just had lunch otherwise we would have definitely ordered food- it looked great!

Best craft beer in Canada, possibly the world. There, I've said it. The IPAs are the highlight here & well worth the money. The patio is always humming & it's an absolutely great place for an afternoon in the sun. Huge fans.

Probably the best premium craft beer in Montreal. It is not a cheap beer, but you get what you pay for. Excellent beers. The different IPA's are all amazing. Over the years they added a terrace, food & more beers. Un incontournable pour les amateurs (& grands buveurs) de bières. The triple IPA is 10 % of pure nectar. It will blow you away.
