Review Summary

Messorem is widely celebrated as one of Montreal top breweries, known for its extensive and high-quality selection of craft beers, particularly its acclaimed IPAs, sours, and unique beer slushies. The venue boasts an incredible, vibrant atmosphere with a massive, popular outdoor terrace that serves as a perfect destination for cyclists, friends, and families with dogs. While many patrons praise the diverse food offerings, such as the smash burgers and poutine, experiences with dining service and food consistency can vary due to high demand. Although the lack of table service and occasional long wait times are frequently noted, the overall consensus highlights the brewery as a must-visit destination for its lively vibe, excellent drinks, and overall contribution to the city's craft beer culture.

Visited on August 22, 2020, in early afternoon. Located in the upper part of Côte-Saint-Pierre, between the Lachine Canal & Autoroute 15, for cyclist it's half way between McAuslan Brewery & the Atwater Market. The brewery is next the a aqua (with some white & rust) water tower, which explains the colors on the logo. Street parking only. They are in a former industrial building, with graffitis that was there before they opened. Quit a large patio with aqua picnic tables & a few Adirondack/Muskoka chairs. The inside has a long bar, a few lounge sofas, not much more sitting places because of COVID-19 (not stools at the bar for now), it looks industrial with a few art works. Because of the pandemic, service is at the bar only. Quit a small food menu, a few mexican stuff, some hot dog & snacks. More than a dozen, maybe 20ish beers on tap. You know the saying "variety is the spice of life", well you won't find it here, about 90% of the taps are some forms of hazy IPA, there are a few gose (sour salty ales) & a larger, but that is it. Fans of the New England style will be happy, until they are pass that phase!

I love this brewery! A ton of IPA to choose from. Delicious smoothie beers on rotation. Complete with funky hipster vibes.

I gave it 5 stars for food but that's in reference to the beer. They honestly make some of the best beer in all of Canada. If you're in Montreal & you like craft beer (especially IPAs) you NEED to visit Messorem. They also have some of the best brewery merch.

Very unique Brewery experience, the beer is great & it's in a nice location. Extra points because it's in an old factory building

I am a Cicerone & I have no idea how this brewery is so highly rated... I bought multiple 4 packs (extremely disappointing that they don't sell singles) & all of them were totally off. One IPA was extremely muted, tasted like nothing. The other carried so much heat from either raw hops or over fermentation that I had to pour it down the drain. Will be going to the brewery for a refund. The only positive Le were the bartender was very friendly.
