I'll start by saying that the food here was amazing & delicious & if I were to solely rate the food it would be 5 stars. The service however really needs some improvement. After being seated & having our orders taken, we received the wrong appetizers by the same server who took our order. Then instead of receiving our correct appetizers we got our Main Course. I corrected that with the server & they took our food back & brought out the appetizers we ordered except they were clearly made in a rush as one of them was missing the lamb that was supposed to come with it. Finally after all that we thought we would have some dessert & asked for a dessert menu only for them to have completely forgotten about it & after waiting 15 min we just asked for the bill & left. Not once did anyone come to check if the food was good or if we need anything.
Let me reiterate this though. The food was excellent & if you want to try Moroccan food, I highly recommend it. But be prepared for the possibility that the service may not be up to par.
Update 2025 - Service has improved massively. Food quality remains phenomenal. I will continue to recommend this place to anyone visiting Montreal.
Vraiment bon. Tapenade de thon avec petas chauds. Excellent comme entrée. Excellent Couscous aux légumes; Grosse portion; Apportez votre appétit !. Excellent Birouates pour le dessert; moins sucré qu'un baklava pour ceux qui surveille le sucre. Café Turk. Je recommande. À 2 pas du métro & Théâtre St-Denis.

We ate at Menthe & Couscous last October for dinner & it was wonderful! Our host was so friendly & explained with enthusiasm the entire menu. We had the couscous royal ( so fresh!), tajine with chicken olives & lemon (amazing!) & soup (warm & yummy). Would highly recommend & we will be back again :)

Excellent food. Their recipe is unconventional & not typical, they took the Mediterranean concept & revisited it to give it more taste. Excellent plates & huge portions. Eclectic decor & warm ambiance with nice diversified music.

Simply the best couscous & lamb in Montreal! Upon entry, the staff makes you feel very welcome & at home. Food ticks all the boxes (healthy, fresh, tasty & so yummy 😋) 2 years later & I'm still coming back, highly recommend!

We had an amazing experience here from start to finish. The food was delicious & the service was even better. We had the delights for 2 appetizers plate, yum lamb shank tajine & the couscous paella & each were PERFECT! Also, the server recommended the kunafa & the Turkish coffee & it was the best I've had.

Went to Menthe & Couscous several times for dinner or lunch & all was great! Caring staff, delicious meal, & the bellydance show on Friday & Saturday was amazing! Highly recommended! Just in case you look for a calmer spot better to book your table on the terrasse or in the beginning of the restaurant.
