I like this place, good beer, good crowd. However, service recently is subpar for montreal. Staff tend to huddle in groups & are sloooow to pickup on waiting customers, tis a crying shame.
Le soleil plombe sur terrasse, attention. Mais a part pour ce détail le Mckibbins est toujours aussi bon !
I got absolutely trashed on fireball with apple cider coolers earlier today & ended up in McKibbin's.
I don't speak French so I ordered the shepherd's pie because it was easy to pronounce in my drunken stupor.
I wasn't expecting to be served the best shepherd's pie that I've ever eaten. It came with a side salad that was also incredible. But I could tell from the second that I laid eyes on that beautiful shepherd's pie that it was something special & boy oh boy was it ever special.
I already know I will go back to my primarily English speaking province craving a shepherd's pie that will bring me even a fraction of the joy that the one at McKibbins brought me.
I absolutely crushed that shepherd's pie & would happily do it time & time again should the opportunity present itself.
Anywho, highly recommend the shepherd's pie & the service was also incredible.
Got short changed 10$. Was not impressed at all. Although while observing the bar, I was very pleased to see their wide selection of available
Spirits. Waiter who served me could have been a lot more friendly, rush hour or not, every customer deserves to feel like they should come back. Just makes me.wonder how many other intoxicated individuals got short changed by him...the live music was great though
La ptite rousse en arrière du comptoir le samedi midi… j'y ferais pas mal
Parfait à part que y'a pas de machine
Great atmosphere for drinks with colleagues & friends!! Service is so friendly & the music is perfect (80s & 90s alternative)
A local's favourite. Can't go wrong with a night out here. Good music, food, people... All around great spot.
Nice irish pub, live music can be hit or miss, friendly staff. Good place to hang out with friends.

The Journey of a Beer
This is a short story on the tipping culture in Canada, & the extreme entitlement it creates.
Deep in the heart of golden barley fields, a farmer rises at dawn. His hands are rough from years of toil, but he takes pride in his work. He nurtures the crops, battles the elements, & harvests each grain with care. He loads the barley onto a truck, never once thinking to ask for a tip.
At the malting house, workers soak, germinate, & roast the barley, transforming it into the foundation of a great beer. The air is thick with the scent of caramelized grains. They shovel, they sweat, they perfect their craft-no tip jar in sight.
The malt travels to the brewery, where brewers measure it carefully, mixing it with water, hops, & yeast. Steam rises as they brew, tasting & adjusting, ensuring perfection. Fermentation begins, weeks pass, & they watch over the beer like devoted parents. Not one of them asks for extra cash.
Bottlers & keggers work tirelessly, sealing the liquid gold into glass & metal. Truck drivers haul the beer across cities & towns, navigating traffic & deadlines, all without demanding a gratuity.
Finally, the beer arrives at a bar.
A greasy, lazy bartender pulls a tap handle, filling a pint glass in seconds. With minimal effort, they place it on the counter, then look up with expectation, immediately bitching for a tip.
Meanwhile, the farmer, the maltster, the brewer, the packager, & the driver all carry on with their work-never once expecting a tip.
If you don't like your salary, take it up with your management & your government, little guy.
I don't owe you anything, if am feeling generous enough, I might tip, IF your service is exceptional.
Otherwise, stay quiet & do your job like the rest of us!
Très bonne ambiance, nourriture extra. Volume de la musique un peu fort pour s'entendre discuter.
