Ma blonde & moi sommes des « habitués » de cette pizzeria. Nous y allons une fois par mois. Cependant, depuis plusieurs semaines, les pizzas, que nous trouvions succulentes, ont changé du tout au tout: moins d'ingrédients, sauce au goût différent, croûte très mince, etc. Sommes-nous les seuls à y voir une détérioration du produit? Bonne pizzeria du quartier, pizza bien garnie & savoureuse, service rapide & courtois, ambiance ordinaire, un peu bruyant provenant de la cuisine tout près mais ok quand même, propre, a savoir toilette au 2e etage
UN RESTO QUI ROULE SUR LA RÉPUTATION DU PÈRE. J'ai commander chez Marconi pour la première fois au milieu des années 80. Je me plaisais à dire à tout le monde que la meilleure pizza de L'UNIVERS se faisait tout près de chez moi. En 1994, je me suis exilé à 8 heures de Montréal pendant près de deux ans. Je ne m'ennuyais pas de ma famille, de mes amis, je m'ennuyais de Marconi. La pizza, là où j'étais, manquait cruellement d'amour... Je suis revenu en ville, heureux de mordre dans ma pizza préférée jusqu'à ce que le père prenne sa retraite, jusqu'à ce que le fils prenne les commandes du resto. Depuis, c'est la ligne descendante vers un service beaucoup moins admirable. J'ai mis beaucoup de temps à trouver, dans les environs (Rosemont), une pizza qui me ferait oublier celle de papa Marconi. Je suis finalement tombé sur Van Horne Pizzeria. Beaucoup moins cher, une pizza qui fait très bien le travail. Il m'arrive encore de temps en temps, de commander chez Marconi, surtout pour le sou-marin. Hier soir, un peu nostalgique, je me suis , laissé tenté... J'ai commandé une large toute garnie. C'est cette commande qui m'amène ici à vous écrire. Ils m'ont achevés. Tellement mince, tellement peu de garniture, que je me demande pourquoi on a envoyé le livreur, on aurait pu me la faxer. Pour vous donner une idée de la différence entre Marconi & Van Horne, l'EXTRA-large all-dressed + extra pepperoni chez Van Horne coûte exactement le même prix que la large toute garnie (sans aucun extra) chez Marconi. La pizza LARGE chez Marconi (31$ + tx) coûte 10$ de PLUS que les 21$ + tx exigés pour le même format de pizza chez Van Horne. Ajoutez à cela le dollar cinquante qui s'ajoute en taxes. (24,14$ / 35,64$) Comme si ce n'était pas suffisant, la pizza de Van Horne doit contenir au minimum deux fois plus de garniture, sinon plus. J'ai beau me creuser les neurones, 10$ de moins & deux fois moins de garniture... Chez Marconi, c'est au client qu'on fait payer la mauvaise gestion. J'espère que papa Marconi n'est plus là pour voir ça.
Une vraie bonne pizzeria comme des le temps. Les pizzas preparées la bas sont genereuse, elles sontt épaisses à cause de la générosité du fromage & des condiments. Les frites sont également très bonnes. En plus de cela, le personnel est courtois & accueillant!
Très bonne pizza, fait depuis 2009 que je vais au comptoir la chercher. Cependant, gros bémol au niveau de la livraison. Un livreur m'a craché au visage lorsque j'ai donné 15% de pourboire sur une poutine qui en coutait 10$+ taxes. C'est la dernière fois que je passe une commande pour faire livrer, je préfère récupérer au comptoir.

What I got: 12" All-dressed pizza with extra olives & mushrooms. I ate the first slice there, to get the best possible fresh & hot experience.
Good Pizza. Could be AWESOME with easy changes.
Pros: VERY Generous toppings, REALLY hot out of the oven, cheese nicely browned, with the classic pizza dough ball in the center to prevent the box from sticking to the pie!
They even added masking tape to keep the box secure during transport. I appreciate this attention to details.
Cons: The juices from all the toppings made the dough really soggy it just tore apart when cut. Don't even try eating this without a plate & utensils.
Can't taste (or hardly see) the tomato sauce in there. Sauce is what makes a pizza stand out, & it's an easy fix at home with a pizza sauce &/or hot sauce or spicy oil. Still, we shouldn't have to doctor a pizza to really enjoy it. I wish they'd try a classic tomato pizza sauce recipe. Pizza sauce should be thick enough to stay where's it's spread.
This pizza had a few spots of hazy pink over the dough, making the sauce...an imprint of a ghost of a flavor.
There was too much cheese in my opinion. It became this thick rubbery layer that fought the other textures & flavors for attention. I love pizza mozzarella, but this was way too much.
I'll order from there again, it would be very practical when I shop in the area. It could easily become a craved favorite, if only the cons listed above were addressed.

Decided to dine in at nighttime after searching for Montreal pizza recommendations. I noticed this name popped up & it caught my attention by the amount of popularity it received.
& boy was the popularity justified.
One of the unique things about this pizza place is that they serve something called pizzaghetti. Which is pizza & spaghetti combined in one. Super cool idea, not sure where it originated but I'm glad it has been established here too in Montreal!
Although the pizzaghetti was tempting, I decided to go with the classic pepperoni option & save the new for another time. My +2 went with the bacon option. Something cool that the pizzeria permitted us to do is to split the entire pie into 2 sides. One side with only pepperoni & another side with the bacon. Super cool of them for that.
The pepperoni slices were awesome. The actual pepperoni had the original taste that is derived from the pork itself. As soon as you taste it, your taste buds will recognize it. Even on the pictures, the meat looks different from other typical pizzeria places. The meat, & the cheese is what sets Marconi's apart from the rest. As well as the pizzaghetti option of course.
For the cheese, it was smooth & the texture, well, cheesy. It definitely added a joy to the dining experience.
The appearance of the food was a light golden brown shine. Quite the attractive design.
The ingredients, organic, & taste fantastic.
Excellent old school pizza. They even had the dough ball in the middle. Ordered all dressed pepperoni & plain cheese all three were very good. No complaints will be back for sure. Raised prices & smaller pizzas. You are taking clients for a ride. Will no longer be a customer.
