Usually, I understand that sometimes restaurants may not always offer what the customer was expecting.

However, today I felt the need to write to you, because I am very disappointed with the order I received today, and frankly, feel that I was purposefully misled.

I have seen Lucille's food truck, and it seemed really popular. I rarely eat out (on average, once every 2-3 months). So today, being in the area, I decided to try out the food truck.

I asked the saleslady what I should get, seeing how I am not a big fan of seafood, and she recommended the cheeseburger and fries, saying that she herself really enjoys the cheeseburger. She was very nice and very friendly, and I took her advice. All in all, the cheeseburger (9$) and the fries (5$) came up to 16.10$ (with tip).

When I arrived home and excitedly opened my box with the order, I was very taken aback. The cheeseburger is minuscule...

I literally took a can and compared the size of the burger to the diameter of the bottom of a soda can. They were the same size, and that is including the bun! The diameter of the patty itself was smaller than the diameter of a soda can, and the thickness was less than the width of a dime.

Seeing how the cheeseburger sells for 9$, I thought that common-sense would allow me to expect it to be the size of an average burger.

Needless to say, the price of the burger, combined with the recommendation of the saleslady made me feel as if I was misled to believe that the Lucille cheeseburger was worth 9$. It was not.

I am sorry to say that I do feel taken advantage of, and I expected more from Lucille.

When I sent this same review to the Lucille customer service email, the response I received was the following:
"Hi,
I'm really sorry to hear about your experience. I will speak with the chefs to make sure the size of the burgers is respected off the food truck.
I appreciate your feedback.
Thanks and have a good weekend,"

Needless to say, I felt completely dismissed.
I am not going to return to Lucille.

Great restaurant, a little crowded and a bit noisy, but itbwasvok. There was no tables available so we were offered two places at the bar. Started with a shrimp cocktail for two. The shrimp were jumbo size and fresh. For the main meal we ordered the grilled lobster, it was served with an arugula saland and fries. Everything was great. The only hck, it would have been nice and appreciated to have been offered a toilette to was hands. Eating lobster is a bit messy.

Wow. Ayayay... Très cher

This is a small restaurant with tables placed very closely together. During our visit the service was friendly but very slow and casual. We started with run-of-the-mill Oyster Shooters ($7 ea.), acceptable King Crab Legs for 2($32), a very good (but extremely slow to be served) Raw Platter for 2(ca. $36) which consisted of an assortment of Oysters and Clams on the half shell accompanied by a variety of delicious sauces. We then both had a house specialty: Surf & Turf Plates ($28 ea.)which consist of a very basic lobster roll with a fair amount of quite bland lobster, unremarkable baby back ribs and fairly good fries. My entrees did not please me but I'll return to this restaurant for the Raw Bar and to try a bowl of the steamed clams that I saw being served while we were there :).

I really do not recommend this restaurant, if you do go... At your own risks! To take time to write a critic on any restaurant, especially a VERY negative critic, one has to have an extremely bad experience...
1. Overpriced beyond any imagination: $102; 2 person meal; no wine; 1 drink each (basic drink: glass of wine & simple scotch); no deserts, no coffee, 1 entrée each; 1 main each (our main was pasta with mussels)
2. LOUD...LOUD...LOUD; not a place to bring your gf or wife for a romantic! If u like a sportsbar atmosphere that's the place for you; but way more expensive
3. Mussels were not cooked! And they're an oyster bar!Hmm, not only uneatable but very dangerous...
4. Pasta portion: 2 - 3 spoonful at most (I promise).If you don't believe me go spend $18 for 6 uncooked mussels & 2-3 pasta portions
5. No bread! When we did ask for bread, they brought us 1 slice of bread cut in two for 2 people!
6. No water! We had to ask 3 times for water... (if they like you they will leave the bottle of tap water at your table as they did with other tables, if they don't, well tough luck)
7. From order time to pasta plate: 45 minutes, no bread, no water, no service. I guess they wanted us to drink more. Felt like being milked
8. Pasta sauce was supposed to be lightly spiced at best: WHY DO YOU THINK WE NEEDED SO MUCH WATER!
9. Waitress couldn't care less how we enjoyed our meal. The place was packed (not difficult it's a small place) and she was alone. She had to handle about 60 customers all at once all by herself.I think they overpack (over their lawful limit) why? 1 bathroom (men/women) for the whole place.
10. The smallest calimari on record in entrée: they were so tiny
11. In resumé you decide: 1 glass of wine + 1 scotch + 1 garden salad (in entrée) + 1 fried calimari(in entrée)+ 2 pasta with 6 mussels plate + 1 bread slice for 2 + 6 glasses of water = $102

Never again!!!!

We went to Lucille's for a friend's birthday party. The restaurant is fun and hip. We loved to small & cozy seating! The food was disappointing as we were expecting something better after reading some of the reviews. We had 2 entrees and 2 mains. The claim entree was gritty probably due to the fact that they were not well cleaned. The mussel entree had an odd sauce pairing. The fish and chips were ordinary and didn't feel that the price was justified. The lobster roll was good though.

But I do have to say that the wait staff was friendly and efficient. This type of joint fits in well with the Monkland crowd.

We so wanted to love it but didn't. Unfortunately, I don't think anyone of us would go back.

We looked around for a restaurant and the one with the least customers was this Lucille's restaurant.
We sat at the terrasse which was very nice.
The waitresses are young and seemed to be more concerned about people looking at them rather than smile and provide good service. Too young.

I ordered the fish and chips.
Well I don't know how could anyone kill the taste of such simple food. The fish tasted like nothing, it must have been thawed the day before. It was really awful, I am never returning.
Definetely not recommended.

My boyfriend and I, along with our family and friends, have enjoyed numerous dinners at Lucille's since it opened last summer. It's one of our 'go-to' spots because of the friendly and welcoming staff, eclectic and ever-changing surf n' turf menu, and an overall wonderful ambiance.

The overall restaurant motif is fifties diner, but with a clam shell twist. The interior is small, but you can eat happily at the bar, seated inside the restaurant and outside on the terrace in the summer.

There's an oyster bar featuring a variety of ocean-dwelling creatures, following by an appropriate selection of appetizers and entrées. What I love about the food is that each dish is a unique piece and I've always loved every meal as a distinct entity! In particular, I recommend starting with the salmon tarter - must be one of the best in Montreal!

Two final points: the wine list pairs well with the food, and once again, the staff is charming!

Dinner on May 14th 2010, 6PM

Based on Fresh Quality of seafood (it's main purpose), this place is definitely of 5 star material:

-Salmon tartare: perfect fresh salmon, meaty, fully flavored, masterly spiced (kudos to the nice balance in spicings here).
-The Lobster Roll had fresh meaty lobster chunks that were delicious and mixed in an harmoniously flavored mayo.
-Grilled lobster: remarquable with perfect depth of flavor, tasty, well cooked and of top quality. The classic garlicky aside sauce was superb too.
-Seafood soup: Delish, tasty and oozing of enjoyable saline flavors. The bit of broth beneath was delicious and harmoniously flavored. Excellent!
