The service is super friendly & exceptional. The smoked meat & pickles are fantastic. The fries are deceiving soft & dark brown like when cooked in old oil.
You could be a vegetarian but still be in love with this old-fashion restaurant known with its traditional smoked meat. All its workers have character. One of the best Putien I've tried in Montreal.
Mon fils voulant essayer cet endroit, je l'ai suivi. Endroit petit d'environ 50 places assis à l'intérieur. Nous avons été servis par Sandra, serveuse au sourire contagieux & avec des yeux très accrocher qu'on ne peut oublier. Pour 20.04$ j'ai eu droit a 1 frite, 1 Smoke Meat & un breuvage. Je suis habituée avec les enveloppes du super marché & certain resto Delicatessen, alors oui, le gout est vraiment différent, mais il ne m'a pas accroché. Cela me surprendrait que j'y retourne malgré la gentillesse du proprio & des yeux de Sandra. Par contre mon fils, lui a beaucoup aimer. Je suis retourner avec un ami, toujours même goût ordinaire du Smoke Meat, par contre je ne vous recommande pas le gâteau au fromage pour la simple raison que pour 8$ ces extrêmement cher payer pour un aussi petit pointe. Je l'avais pris pour emporter.
Perfect smoke meat treat. There no messing around here. Very to the point, but they are still willing to help the newbies figure out the best way to share their plates ;) I won't want a thing to be changed.

La serveuse est toujours aussi efficace, mais le smoked meat old fashion était moins bon qu'avant que ce soit vendu. On dirait qu'ils ont modifié la recette d'épices. En plus, il était tellement gras que le pain était trempé & le gras coulait dans l'assiette. Bref, j'ai été déçu pour la première fois en trente ans.
Came all the way from Ontario to pick up a few of the things I miss about Montreal. For lester's, that was their stuffed chicken. Always loved it & their smoked meat is not bad eithe
