AVOID THIS PLACE!!

Despite the bad reviews, & being tempted to walk away as a result, I still decided to give this place a chance. Boy, was I wrong.

It took a while for the server to initially check on us, but that wasn't even the worst part. Once we ordered, the appetizers came out promptly, which I appreciated, but things went downhill once our mains arrived.

I ordered the seafood linguini, while my wife had the shrimp linguini with tomato sauce. My dish was okay-lacking seasoning, but still decent. My wife's shrimp linguini, on the other hand, was drenched in olive oil & honestly disgusting.

What made the experience even worse was the service. Our server didn't check on us once throughout the meal. Our waters were never refilled, nobody came by to ask how the food was, & we waited around 10 minutes just to have our plates cleared for dessert.

To top it all off, after the server took our bill & seeing that I left a low tip, he had the audacity to tell me not to leave a bad tip. Given the food & especially the service we received, the tip was already more than what I felt was warranted.

I genuinely tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt despite the reviews, but unfortunately, they were right. Between the mediocre food, poor service, & the completely inappropriate comment about the tip, I would not come back & cannot recommend this place.

Je suis venu il y'a 2 mois à ce restaurant & j'étais satisfaite car on a eu un excellent service du gérant ce soir je suis reparti encore une fois au début on a eu un service normal à la fin on avait couper notre facture en deux en allant payer la première facture j'ai voulu donner le pourboire que j'estimais vouloir donner sachant que on aller donner un autre tips dans la 2 eme facture j'avais donner 10$ pour une facture de 165$ première facture mais le serveur n'a pas apprécié & au lieu d'accepter le pourboire il s'est montré mécontent & a commencé à me faire des remarques déplacé je trouve que c'est pas du tous professionnel sachant que les tips c'est un retour d'un bon service & se n'est pas obligatoire ! ne pas oublier en tous les cas très déçu je ne reviendrai plus jamais dommage pour le propriétaire .

Le restaurant est sympa mais sans plus. Ça reste assez moyen globalement. Par contre attention avec les moules, j'en ai mangé hier & je suis tombé malade. Certaines avaient effectivement un goût bizarre.

Le reste des plats commander étaient bon globalement. Les serveurs étaient accueillant.

If you're a seafood lover, this place is definitely worth a visit. I tried the lobster Thermidor, & it was absolutely delicious. The food was fresh, well prepared, & beautifully presented.

The outdoor seating creates a great atmosphere, especially if you want to enjoy Old Montreal while having lunch or dinner. The service was friendly, & the overall experience was excellent. I would definitely come back.

Au contraire de certains commentaires, nous avons très bien mangé & la serveuse a été vraiment très sympathique. Le service impeccable & ils ont vraiment tout fait pour nous trouver une place à une heure de forte affluence.

Nous avons mangé sur la terrasse. Il n'y avait aucune attente. Nous avons apprécié le service attentionné & la gentillesse des employés. La guédille au homard était bonne.

Wonderful Experience at Le Sénateur! 🇨🇦

During my visit to Montreal, I had the pleasure of dining at Le Sénateur, & I really enjoyed the experience. The soup was wonderful & comforting, especially during the cold Montreal winter. The food was delicious, & the atmosphere made the visit even more enjoyable.

It was a memorable part of my Montreal trip, & I'm glad I stopped by. I would definitely recommend Le Sénateur to anyone looking for a nice place to enjoy a good meal while visiting Montreal!
