The fries are less than ordinary, no crunch at all, the cheese is somewhat fresh but doesn't really'squeak' are the sweet gravy is certainly not'original'. On the other hand, the burger I had was really well done & tasty.
We only tried the original poutine & it was good. Not a fan of sweet gravy, but you can get used to it. It's a local tradition & you have to try it once. Also had an orange juice that's is blended to give it a frothy taste to it. Has a Tang-y taste & reminds me of my childhood.
Le service étais dans la moyenne la place semblait propre, cependant, la sauce à poutine étais la plus sucrée que j'ai goûté de ma vie au point de ne plus sentir le côté saler du fromage, je ne sais pas si c'était vraiment la recette originale de la poutine mais c'est dans l'une des plus mauvaise poutine que j'ai mangé alors qu'elle semble avoir été exécuté correctement par le personnel. À mon avis c'est très décevant pour l'origine d'un monument historique de la cuisine québécoise.

I ordered the sandwich du roy à la viande fumée, & my bf & daughter split the large original poutine.
We had more than enough food & even had leftovers.
The smoked meat was tender & full of flavour & the poutine was delicious. It was interesting to see how poutine were originally served with the cheese under the fries.
The Orange Jucep was very good as well.
The staff was extremely friendly & knowledgeable.

Le Roy Jucep est réputé pour avoir inventé la poutine dans les années 1960. Leurs frites dorées sont nappées d'une sauce brune savoureuse & accompagnées de fromage en grains frais. Il y a aussi des variantes créatives pour les palais aventureux.
Je l'avoue sans honte : je n'aime pas vraiment la poutine… sauf leur galvaude ! Un vrai délice !
& ne manquez pas leur célèbre jus d'orange mousseux, l'Orange Jucep - une boisson rafraîchissante & originale qui accompagne parfaitement le repas.
Enormous selection of poutine, had Cajun & the French one (pepper sauce). They were delicious. A lot of people mention that the sauce is sweet but it might be because they just took the "authentic" sauce which is sweet, you have to ask for the brown sauce which is the actual original one. Anyway, the poutine is up there with the best of them.
We tried their Poutine after hearing that this was the original restaurant that invented it. The sauce/gravy is sweet & the curd doesn't squeak like curd normally does. The curd does however have a nice flavour. I'm pretty sure the fries are frozen in a bag & not fresh cut. We ordered the large vegetarian & the portion size was ok for two. The waitress was friendly. Overall, I'd say that they're riding on the inventor story. We've had better Poutine at several other restaurants elsewhere.
J'aime bien aller à cet endroit. La sauce originale est géniale sur la poutine. Les patates, un petit affaire pas assez cuites, trop dures. J'aime bien la moquerie envers Warwick sur le menu. C'est amusant & mérité. Le stationnement esr gratuit. La poutine est tout de même assez dispendieuse, ça demeure de bonnes portions. Le service est excellent.
It is the original poutine shack. Try it. You'll love it. Be ready to speak French. OJ is more than OK.
La nourriture est correcte sans plus. La sauce à poutine est sucrée, je respecte le fait que c'est leur recette originale, mais ce n'est pas l'idéal pour une poutine. La salle à manger est propre & bien maintenue, ils sont si bien conserver le style rétro. Nous voulions absolument essayer l'endroit lors de notre passage dans la région, malheureusement, l'expérience a été bien au deçà de nos attentes.
This is the place where you can find the original POUTINE, the national dish of Canada 🇨🇦. We try the original with the chesse underneath & the trio (to try a bit of 3 choices). & also the original orange juice, very juicy! Remember to choose one of the two sauces, you can also take both. Feeling the ambience of the 50s with photos of celebrities & maybe yours as well. Don't forget you're in the Quebec so you gotta speak up clearly & practice parlez français!!!
Une poutine classique & à l'ancienne absolument délicieuse! Je recommande autant la sauce originale que moderne Grand adepte de la poutine simple ils ont réussi à me conquérir avec celle au bacon Leur poutine dessert est aussi sympa ! Je reviens pour sûr.
Très beau restaurant. Pour ce qui est de la poutine la sauce original n'est pas à mon goût.
