Lasalle Drive-In is a long-standing neighbourhood staple known for its casual, classic atmosphere and prime location along the waterfront. While many visitors praise the establishment for its generous portions, famous subs, and reliable comfort food like pizza and club sandwiches, others have noted inconsistencies in food quality and service over recent years. Opinions on specific items vary, with some diners celebrating the flavorful recipes and welcoming staff, while others express disappointment regarding the texture of certain ingredients or changes in preparation. Despite some mixed feedback, the restaurant remains a popular, nostalgic destination for those seeking quick, filling meals and a pleasant view near the water.
Best burgers & poutine in town! Smoked meat Pizza!!
The Best. Can't wait till they start to serve the soft ice cream. They always have the regular ice cream in many flavors!
I've been coming to this location for years & it has always been a reliable spot in LaSalle. Ownership has changed a couple of times over the years (as many restaurants do), but the quality & service have stayed consistent, & everyone has always been polite & welcoming.
The menu covers all the Quebec casse-croûte classics hot dogs, fries, burgers, poutine & everything is always fresh & well-made. Their club sandwich is one of my favourites: thinly sliced white meat, well-prepared, & always cooked properly. Also, their house salad is surprisingly one of the best around super fresh with great dressing.
The restaurant is clean, the portions are generous, & the location is very convenient (right across from the police station). In the summertime, they even have a small ice cream window that you can access right from the bike path, which is such a nice touch for walkers & cyclists.
Overall, a consistent, friendly neighbourhood spot that never disappoints.
Excellent food, prepared fresh with fresh ingredients. Most memorable meal, among many greats from our time in Montreal.
The smoked meat sandwich was incredible & the poutine was the tastiest we had on our trip. (Significantly better than the highly rated tourist spot with 100s of flavors)
Walking it off in the area when you are done is also a pleasure.
The poutine at LaSalle Drive-In was just okay. The sauce was alright but could use a little kick. Unfortunately, they don't use cheese curds, just shredded cheese, which doesn't make sense for a poutine. If you don't order the sauce on the side, you end up with a soggy, soup-like mess.
