Review Summary

La Belle Corée stands out as a charming neighborhood gem offering authentic and flavorful Korean cuisine with generous portions at reasonable prices. Guests consistently praise the high quality of dishes like bibimbap, kimchi, and various soups, noting that even those with dietary preferences find excellent options to enjoy. While the unique interior decor is often described as unconventional, the warm, thoughtful, and welcoming service provided by the staff makes for a memorable dining experience that keeps customers returning for years.

2026: 3 years later I gave them another chance on a whim (reason being: the last time he was rude to me I told him & he said he wouldn't charge me for my food. I found that respectful so I put it in my mind to come back eventually but only when I felt ready). I had a nice meal. The soup was delicious (spicy tofu veg egg soup) & the rice & banchan were ok. He offered to give me more rice if I asked for it. He also didn't bother me when I brought my own broccoli & green onions & added them to the soup (not shown). It was so good because the soup is full of flavour & spicy so it saved me from cooking without sacrificing flavour at the resto. He was polite from the moment I walked in until the moment I left. I would return. I updated the service & food rating to reflect this change.

Edit: Their mushroom based dumplings that taste like & have the texture of pork are pretty cool & the soup was decent. The owner said he gets them through a special supplier. He also told me the interesting decor is due to the fact that the room used to be a pub & who's knows what it was before. I still wasn't too fond of the service but I'd probably still give it another chance. If the service was better I'd probably come by more often, oh well :/

Old review: great food & location. From what I remember the service wasn't the best but like whatever, people can be however they want as long as they get the job done right

I was walking around & saw this place. Very welcoming! I said please order something of your choice. He said #11, miso soup & I ordered a Tsing Tao beer. WOW! Sizzling bowl full of colors & great food with kimchee. Fantastic!

J'adore y aller, leurs soupes sont si réconfortantes & leurs pancakes (kimchi ou fruits de mer) sont un must!

Good food & ambiance, flavour profile not what I am used to when ordering. Kimchi was just too spicy, miso soup was too strong. The bulgogi was good but I am used to having it with white rice.

This was the first time I've been to La Belle Corée & I was not disappointed. The lunch menu was concise but with a good choice for meat eaters & vegetarians alike. Starting with a delicious (& fresh tasting) miso soup & Takoyaki (new to me, a fantastic crisp / soft octopus concoction) we moved onto Bibimbap, served in a super-heated bowl which kept the contents hot to the last bite. Also indulging ourselves, we ordered Dak gangjeong, which was suitably sticky & crisp, with a tasty selection of vegetables & rice.
Portion sizes where perfect, not too much or too little, we left feeling comfortably full.
Service was charming & unobtrusive, & the bill was surprisingly low.
