It was our first time here. Ordered an 8' bambino & a poutine. We paid for toppings & got hardly any. At least 75% of the pizza was crust & empty dough. The cheese & toppings were set in one place in the center. I had to spread the cheese & topping across the pizza. Honestly for the price we paid it should've been made properly. The poutine was ok but the pizza was a huge disappointment. Got about 2 decent bites that tasted good out of the whole pizza. If it was made properly I would've probably given 4-5 stars. Spent $25 on an 8' pizza (or I should say dough) & a regular poutine. Disappointed.

Second only to Como for pizza in the area, but a way better value, & their fries are better. Good, very reasonably priced lunch specials too.

This is a relatively new chain in the area - they started popping up all over. Jacques Cartier pizza is located in a strip mall, it is a small restaurant ideal for take out. There are 2 tables in the restaurant & a couple outdoor seats. Although they specialize in pizza, the menu also features fast food items like burgers, hot dogs, wings, poutines, submarine sandwiches & pasta. We walked in & ordered a combo special, a medium size 14inch "Western" pizza, it comes with 2 cans of soda & a small french fry. The menu advertises this at a special price if you opt for the "All dressed" pizza. When we were discussing options, the employee working at the counter told us it's not just that type, we could pick any pizza we wanted. The way he said it, it made it seem like he would do us a favor & just let us pick any type at that price. Once he rang up the bill though, it was an extra $3 or so to get the toppings we wanted. The meal came up to around $36 or $38 which didn't seem like much of a "special". The pizza itself was very good, better than I expected. I was glad the toppings were generous & fresh. The toppings were distributed mostly in the center of the pizza though & not spread far enough on the edges. The fries were not good - these are frozen, boring, flavorless fries. Too crispy on the outside, not salted well. I wouldn't get them again. There's a pizza joint at every corner in the area, I didn't think Jacques Cartier stood out from the competition. We found this chain to be pricy compared to other local pizza places that offer 2 for 1 deals for example, or walk-out specials. I know other places that offer a large pizza with a carry-out special price of $15, whereas all the pizza options here are $25 to $35 min. I haven't received any coupons or heard about specials since they opened so unless they have a new promotion doubtful I would be back.

I was surprised by the improvement in their service. The counter waiter today was super friendly, eager to introduce us their menu & excited to serve us. We had an amazing tine even if we only ordered for take out. There is the problem of all the bugs flying around which does make it a bit less appealing to eat in the restaurant. The food is still pretty good & the prices are still great. Around 15$ for a big plate of pasta & they have their combo for 2 of 3 people which are great deals. The food was decent. For the price, the portions are pretty generous & filling. (1 year ago)
