Happy Lamb Hot Pot is described as a spacious, clean restaurant on the second floor near the main intersection of Chinatown in Montreal, with large windows that keep the space bright and a calm, not too noisy atmosphere. The all-you-can-eat buffet offers a wide range of ingredients and a sauce bar, though some labels are mixed up and vegetarian options are fairly limited, with calls for more tofu, veggie dumplings, and meat-free broth bases. Food appears fresh and well stocked, with lamb and other meats praised and the tomato and hot sour broths offering different profiles, even if one broth was noted as underseasoned. Service is generally friendly and efficient, with several staff members highlighted for good, quick service, and prices described as reasonable, making it suitable for family meals, dates, or casual outings; lunch is typically cheaper and birthday freebies are mentioned. A few negatives appear, including a hygiene concern from one reviewer who reported food poisoning, a challenging entrance with stairs, and occasional crowding or a cafeteria-like vibe. Overall, the restaurant stands out for its variety, generous portions, lively atmosphere, and accessibility of sauces and ingredients, making it a popular option for hot pot lovers in Montreal.
The pricing is worth it. Variety of toppings is quite extensive (including protein options). I find their tables to be well designed compared to other hot pot places where the induction is either too far away or leaves no room for your plate. Place is well ventilated. Sad they took away the prune juice but still worth the go. Their broth was thick & savoury.
Every time I go, I feel it is a popular place. The soup is always perfect. I plan to go again today. I hope it continues to be a restaurant that the whole family likes.

Beautiful upstairs location. Buffet style for ingredients then individual hot pots for each person. Extremely helpful staff. I should have asked for extra tools...we learned about the strainer spoons after making a mess.
Belle expérience, bonne variété de choix par contre la viande plus précisément les petite tranche de boeuf qui sont à volonté sont franchement pas mangeable depuis qu'il les ont changé! Elles ressemble à des tranches de gras c'est pas fameux!
Honestly, I've been truly surprised by this place. Not only the price for unlimited meat was incredible but the variety of the side dish you can take in this place is just wow. Really, I recommend anyone going by this place to go inside & try specially if you have a big appetite.

We went here not knowing how it worked, & the waiter took the time to explain it to us. You have a broth, an entire wall full of ingredients to choose from, & they have drinks & some cooked food too in the buffet, like chicken wings, which were amazing. We really enjoyed our experience here & will definitely go back. All of the ingredients were super fresh, & the service was great too!
