About

Happy Lamb Hot Pot specializes in authentic Mongolian-style hot pot centered on a signature broth brewed with dozens of natural herbs and spices. Patrons cook premium cuts of thinly sliced lamb, marbled beef, and fresh vegetables directly at their table in simmering cauldrons. The menu emphasizes the unique flavor profiles of high-quality meats paired with traditional dipping sauces that highlight the complexity of the seasoned stock. Interactive dining is central to the experience, allowing for complete control over the cooking process and ingredient combinations. The interior features communal heating elements built into the tables to accommodate both small parties and larger groups seeking a focused meal. This establishment prioritizes ingredient freshness and the precise balance of botanical notes in the broth to define the hallmark taste of the brand.

Review Summary

Happy Lamb Hot Pot is widely regarded as a fantastic destination in Montreal for an affordable and enjoyable all-you-can-eat hot pot experience. Many diners praise the restaurant for its fresh variety of meats, vegetables, and flavorful broths, noting that it is a great spot for family gatherings, dates, or group meals. The staff members are consistently described as friendly, attentive, and helpful, contributing to a welcoming and clean atmosphere. While the majority of guests have highly positive experiences and appreciate the value, some feedback suggests that vegetarian options could be more extensive, and a few reviewers have noted occasional issues with labeling or ingredient variety depending on the time of day. Overall, it remains a popular choice for those seeking a fun, interactive, and tasty meal in the city.

We always come here, & today this girl was serving with a bad attitude. We ordered the dinner item as usual, but this new girl said if we want something, we should tell her instead because it's a waste of paper. However, when we came in last week, the other girl served us fine & told us to use the dinner paper to order multiple times, & she was kind to us. Please ensure your employees are not rude to customers. If they have to say something, it would be better for the reputation to say it in a nicer way.

We were going during lunch time but ordered the dinner menu. Usually they dont have the dinner menu out, so we were HANDED a piece of paper & TOLD to mark whatever we want from the menu. So we did. On the second time we ordered, we ordered bamboo plates bcuz that was the only thing we wanted at that time. A girl employee, took it & came back at us for wasting paper ordering just one item from there, saying' If you guys are only ordering bamboo, you can tell us. Because this is a waste of paper'.
This is very disappointing to see bcuz a week prior we also ate from the same menu but a different girl was serving us & she was fine even if we order just one item as well. So I dont get why that one employee was so rude to us when we weren't aware that we could just tell them what we want. We were basically just doing what we were told to from the beginning. She could simply told us to tell them directly if we wanted to order something & leave the part'this is a waste of paper' & attitude out.

We are a frequent customers whose been coming here multiple times, so please manage your employees better.

First hotpot experience but we really enjoyed our meal. Buffet had lots of options & everything we tried was tasty. We just went with the clear broth since we weren't sure what to expect & it was really good. Staff was friendly, everything was clean & they kept replacing items when they ran out.

Peu d'explications.
Peu d'accueil également.
Nourriture en quantité mais j'ai eu l'impression de manger du plastique.

A spacious & clean hot pot restaurant located on the second floor right at the main intersection of Chinatown in Montreal. It's easy to find, with large windows that make the space feel bright & airy. The atmosphere is calm & not too noisy.

The menu is not as diverse as the Toronto location, but the essentials are all there. The buffet offers a good range of basic options, & there is a wide selection of ingredients for hot pot. Some of the labels were slightly mixed up, which made it a bit confusing. Overall, the food looked clean & fresh, & the buffet area was refilled quickly & consistently.

I ordered the two-flavor broth: tomato & hot sour. The broth was slightly off in seasoning, not bad, but not very flavorful either. It could have been more balanced & bold.

There were about two to three staff members working. They were friendly & service was quick.

The price was around $40 per person (I don't remember the exact amount). It's suitable for family gatherings, dates, or casual meals with friends. Overall, it's a decent experience, but I wouldn't set very high expectations.

When I paid, I realized that they hide the tip option'no tip' by putting a sticker. & the staff pressed 15% tip for my bill, saying this is their policy & I must pay the tip. Forcing customers to tip is illegal in Quebec.

My wife was literally forced to pay 15% for a service she wasn't satisfied with. According to staff'it is restaurant policy when it's a group bigger than 6'. The employee went ahead & hit the 15% tip box in the machine. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
