About

General Tao serves a specialized menu centered on quintessential Chinese and Vietnamese culinary traditions with a focus on bold, balanced flavors. The kitchen highlights signature dishes such as crispy General Tao chicken, savory noodle soups, and fresh vegetable stir-frys prepared with authentic spices. Every plate emphasizes the textural contrast between crunchy components and aromatic, slow-simmered sauces that define the regional heritage of the cuisine. The dining environment maintains a functional and straightforward aesthetic designed to emphasize the speed and consistency of the meal preparation. Patrons frequently select from a diverse array of classic dumplings, steamed rice rolls, and traditional broths that anchor the extensive menu. This establishment consistently delivers reliable, high-volume preparation methods that remain true to the core techniques found in traditional Asian street food preparation across various provinces.

Plenty of delicious vegetarian & vegan options. The peanut butter tofu is the best of anywhere in Montreal area.

OMG, my husband & I went to this hidden gem of a restaurant it really nice inside & the hostess was very sweet. OK, I've been looking for the best General Tao in town & I think I found it, the sauce is amazing. I ordered the Singapore noodles & the peanut butter dumplings & I ordered another peanut butter dumpling because it was so good. My husband also ordered the chow mein, the flavour just popped. We are going back next week, can't stop thinking about the food. The staff were super nice, I hope to have Mary as our server, she was very pleasant.

Very grateful that they do offer vegetarian options but their General Tao & Peanut Butter Tofu is just awful - so chewy it's impossible to eat. The sauce is good though...

General Tao was really good & the chicken was nice & crispy & not too spicy. Peanut butter dumplings were really good as well. Great spot to order from on a lazy Sunday night!

I use to go there (Brossard) every week or so. The price, depending on what you get, can be affordable. As a vegetarian, I always took the general tofu & the peanut butter tofu, with there spring rolls. My girlfriend never liked the meat there, but the tofu dish is great. As a vegetarian, I can't talk for the meat part. To make a story short, never disappointed, till now. I went last Friday, with a friend that took me out for my birthday dinner. I ordered the same tofu dish, as usual, I thought they would know me by now, guess not. I got the Chicken general tao. & I almost eat it, but then I realized it was chicken. I called the manager, told him I had, as usual, never ordered chicken as I'm vegetarian, & he looked at me really annoyed, & told me I did. Told him I came here often & always ordered the tofu. Anyways, not sure if it is because it was busy or what, it is a small restaurant, but he didn't take back the chicken. So I ended up keeping the chicken dish, perhaps my girlfriend would want it, & told them that it was unacceptable & that it was going to be the last time I went there. You should never pay for something you never ordered. Ive learned my lesson. Never better served than by yourself, & eat home. I use to leave them 18 to 20% tip every time. Now, well no more. To bad, there tofu was great, but to get serve with that kind of attitude, no thanks. Still, I wish them luck with there business. Bottom lines is, avoid that place, cause you will eventually get disapointed. Oh, & keep also even more so away from there delivery, as they will for sure screw your order. Oh, & my girlfriend didn't eat the chicken, she really doesn't like it
