Eko Sushi specializes in the preparation of Japanese culinary staples through a focus on precise knife work and fresh ingredients. The menu features an extensive array of maki rolls, nigiri, and sashimi prepared with Atlantic salmon, tuna, and yellowtail. Patrons select from various specialty rolls that incorporate tempura crunch, avocado, and spicy mayonnaise to create distinct textural contrasts. The interior design utilizes minimalist wood elements to provide a functional space suitable for efficient meal service. Each platter is assembled to highlight the natural aesthetic of the raw seafood while maintaining consistent portion sizing. Dont be fooled by the small storefront, this place serves really tasty & fresh sushis! Those sushis are filled with fish & fresh ! A lot of restos aren't worth it these days, but this is a little hidden gem !
Service was great & we walked out full & happy! Will come again 🙏🏽
Before writing this review,I unfortunately read other reviews in curiosity. As such I discovered that my experience
about Eko Sushi proved to be old news for many which is why I chose to highlight the fun in finding & trying something new.
After tennis at Nuns Island & needing milk,I went to Super C next to the Atwater market. As any good husband might do,I called my wife as to what might be for dinner. After indecision on both our parts,I decided to walk on Notre Dame for an exercise in potluck given a beautiful near spring sunny day As the changeover from breakfast/ lunch to dinner on Notre Dame was beginning, I watched a group of bald, older men seeking beef, lined up at Joe Beef. Humored I headed West into the sunshine & past Greenspot,an author of good steamies & fries, especially the sweet potato kind but also masters in high cholesterol. PFK & McDonalds had the same effect & Poulet Rouge's location is now waiting for another Peter Sergagkis tenant. Pushing aside a trio of City of Montreal Street cleaners, I stumbled on Eko Sushi. Having reviewed the menu from the outside, I walked into a quaint somewhat hole in the wall near empty restaurant to order #'s 50,52b,55 & 56 to go. Immediate attention to service & an evident family configuration in sushi preparation, I was encouraged. Leaving with a quick delivery of my order, I capitulated to the smells of Greenspot with an order of fries in one hand. In the other, I brought the order of futomakis into the house with minimal expectation.
Uncovering large generous pieces of sliced rolls with more than ample soya, wasabi, ginger & spicey mayo which I had asked for, I/ we were delighted to bite into heavenly slices of moist, super fresh, quality samples of Japanese cuisine.
From the land of the sun across from a greasy spot, one can savor excellent affordable sushi.
Definitely a return venue for me with a mild caveat that parking for pick up can be challenging, I leave you with the following suggestions that the walk from the Super C / Pharmaprix parking lot is minimal & that you read previous other satified reviews on Eko Sushi.
This is the best sushi place in Saint-Henri! It is gluten-free friendly. The staff are very knowledgeable about gluten sensitivity. The vegetarian sushi option is very delicious with fresh ingredients ! High quality & affordable prices ( each roll I had was for less than $10). Definitely coming back again soon!
Sympathique endroit, le chef/proprio Duc est hyper sociable & accueillant. Il m'a bien guidé dans mes choix, 20 pièces & 2 X le Dragon fly: quel régal :)
Au plaisir, :)
Incredible.
Fantastic options, meaty not slimey fish, very generous portions, great pricing, kind staff & welcoming restaurant. If I could eat the whole menu I would. We will be going again & sharing the location's name around.
Thank you for an excellent meal.
