Three years ago, I experienced discriminatory treatment from a young white female server at this restaurant. She repeatedly refused to serve us (two Asian women) when we called her over to take our order, instead prioritizing middle-aged white men who arrived after us. Besides delivering our food, she provided no other service, she was all smiles with him but cold & impatient with us. We still left a 15% tip & departed, but I remain deeply hurt by everything that happened there to this day.
My favourite from their menu is the 1927 burger.
I feel like they've improved on their fries & their burgers are amazing. If you're craving a good burger, you won't be disappointed.
Prices are on par & service is fine. It can get noisy when you go during peak hours though
Terrible experience every time. I order the $15 cheesecake slice & it ALWAYS comes melted because they pack it with the hot food. I've left order notes repeatedly & they still ignore them. Whoever is managing the evenings clearly doesn't care - & the bad service reflects that. The reviews don't lie.
Was in Montreal for the weekend & stayed at nearby hotel. Given this was a short walk & open 24 hours, it was very convenient. Went on a Thursday night & service was quite good. Food is okay, very large portions. Drinks were good.
A larger group of us went on Saturday night. I had made a reservation for 40 ppl. I was thrilled to get it as I had only done it that day since we did not know if we would have to play that night in a hockey tournament. However when we arrived, it turns out that they gave our tables to another team! I don't know how that team showed up without a reservation but the manager admitted it was his fault. However because they had ordered their food already, he wouldn't ask them to leave or to move tables. So he continued to clear tables for our group & sat people as the tables were ready. This meant that the group did not get to sit together or eat at the same time, & the final group did not get seated until 50 mins after the original reservation.
While we certainly appreciated being accommodated, the manager did nothing for our inconvenience. I had even suggested to him maybe free drinks would be nice & he said some of our group had already left. I told him that was the boys but their parents had not paid the bills yet. He said he would see what he could do, but did nothing & did not come back to speak to me once. This is not the way you make up for a mistake that inconveniences 40 people, all of whom had to get up at 5:15am.
Ordered the smoke meat (lean) platter, but was disappointed: slices were too thick & lacked that classic saltiness you'd expect from Montreal smoke meat. Fries were decent, though. & the music playing (classic 80s mix) was a whole nostalgic vibe!
Went there tonight for the first (& DEFINITELY the last time). Besides the fact that we waited about half an hour to be seated - I understand that, busy Saturday evening - the food was absolutely not worth the money. The poutine had a total of 3-4 tiny pieces of cheese, barely any sauce in it & the fries were dry as hell. I'm 99% sure they use frozen potatoes. The smoked meat sandwich was ok but I wouldn't pay that much for that, ever again. The guy who took our order was rather rude but hey, at least his acrylic nails & brows were on point 🫢 long story short, avoid this place at all costs & just go to Mc Donald's instead, their fries are better.
