This place is AMAZING! I went 3 times when in Montreal & stayed at UofM, everything on the menu was delicious in every aspect. Super crispy tonkatsu, flavorful curry, juicy meat, all the way down to lovely sauces & dressings. If you're in the area you have to go here for a great bite & an amazing atmosphere. The interior is cozy & well decorated with great service every time. Un-fussy place that is never lacking.
J'ai découvert DonDonYa, un petit restaurant asiatique caché à Montréal, & j'ai été vraiment impressionné. La nourriture est délicieuse, avec des saveurs qui donnent l'impression de manger un plat bien plus cher quil ne l'est. Le service est exceptionnel & le personnel est attentif, ce qui rend l'expérience très agréable. Même si le restaurant est petit, cela contribue à son charme & à son ambiance chaleureuse, le rendant encore plus spécial & intime. C'est une expérience que je recommande vivement.
I unfortunately must edit this review. The quality of the dishes have dropped - the chicken I received in the torikatsu was stale. What used to be a more generous helping of vegetables is now thinly spread on top, & replaced by rice on the bottom. The rice quality has changed as well. Overall edible, but would not go back because I can make it better at home.

I thought it was quite good. The staff are amazing & they do everything there. Cute vibes in the restaurant.. The portions are smaller so you gotta get a main & a side to be full. Rice is delicious. The only thing I would say is, the egg on the Gyudon came ice cold which was a bit unpleasant but otherwise the dish was delicious
This small Asian fusion spot truly impressed me. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is warm & attentive, & every dish was bursting with flavor. You can tell they put care into every detail - from presentation to taste. The portions were generous, & the menu had a great mix of creative fusion options & comforting classics. Absolutely worth a visit, & I'll definitely be coming back!

Great spot for great food. The menu is full of delicious options. Service was fast & courteous. It's a tiny spot so not much seating but the atmosphere is good for conversation or a date night.
Excellente carte, service rapide, prix corrects & plats succulents & copieux.
Une très bonne place pour qui aime la nourriture japonaise.
Attention à l'hygiène dans l'arrière salle sur le chemin des WC.
Late lunch on a Friday. Take out shares space with 4 x 4 seats, 3 x 2 seats, & counter space. This group puts out an amazing amount of food…. no, it's great food for the tiny space that they work from. They also have innovative teas & lemonades. The service was good but stretched a little thin.
Un des meilleurs restaurant à inspiration asiatique dans lequel j'ai pu manger! Les plats sont savoureux, gouteux, généreux & inspirants. Merci pour ce moment agréable, qui fait oublier que l'on vient juste pour manger à la base. Longue vie à votre restaurant, vos cuisiniers & votre service client souriant exceptionnel!
