About

Dizz's Bagel & Deli specializes in authentic Montreal-style bagels boiled in honey-infused water and baked in wood-fired ovens to achieve a distinctively chewy crust. The menu features an extensive selection of classic deli meats, sliced thin and stacked high on freshly toasted bread or soft, doughy bagels. Crisp garden salads provide a refreshing accompaniment, prepared with market-fresh vegetables and signature dressings. Patrons encounter a bustling, high-energy environment where the focus remains entirely on the craftsmanship of traditional bagel preparation and efficient deli service. Every sandwich is constructed with precision, utilizing quality ingredients sourced for optimal flavor and texture. This establishment functions as a quintessential neighborhood staple for those seeking substantial, hand-crafted deli fare served in a no-nonsense, functional atmosphere that prioritizes speed and consistent culinary standards above all else.

Review Summary

Dizz's Bagel & Deli is widely appreciated for serving fresh, high-quality bagels made in small batches, often featuring a light sweetness and traditional preparation methods. Many visitors enjoy the variety of house-made pastries, soups, and prepared foods available in this cozy local shop. While some customers praise the staff for being kind, welcoming, and efficient, others have reported inconsistent service experiences and occasional frustration regarding specific ordering policies or perceived freshness. The atmosphere is generally described as a convenient, quick-stop location rather than a full-service restaurant, and despite mixed feedback on consistency and staff interactions, the quality of the baked goods remains a primary draw for the community.

We used to get plastic bags with our bagels, but it doesn't seem this is happening anymore.

It also helps if the counter person is able to speak any of Canada's official languages. Trying to communicate anything more than a basic order at my last visit was virtually impossible & required assistance of other staff to complete our basic order.

I stopped by to try their bagels, they have many different ones to chose from, I bought 4 different ones, but I did not find any of them to be that good & they were more expensive than the place I go to nearby. They also have a wood burning oven, so sadly I cannot go there as I see & smell the burning fumes regularly while walking in the neighborhood. When they upgrade, as many others have (without any notice by the customers), I may try again. But if you care about the air quality in the neighborhood you should not support this place.

Staff were great when I visited. The bagels were all freshly made & the White / Sesame seed ones were still very hot & needed to cool in a paper bag. Cream Cheese & Lox are available to include with your order. Very quick service from the staff so your stay in line will be very brief. Compared to some other bagel shops at Dizz's there was not a FULL BIN of bagels pre-made to sit & lose their moisture by the time you returned home. Smaller Batches made means fresher bagels when you buy them.

Very nice bagel shop, freshly made out of the oven, eat right away. Has a light sweetness to it. 👍

I went there to get a bagel & cream cheese. I wanted the cream cheese on the side & the woman behind the counter said'we don't do that here. You need to buy a full cream cheese container'... Why would I buy a full container? So the rest can go bad while I'm out about my day I don't carry a fridge with me..😆 it was for one bagel.. I just don't find that's the greatest customer service to make a big deal over giving somebody some cream cheese on the side. That's just me. So I just took the bagel.. i'll go somewhere else next time

Really disappointing. The bagels were already stale when I got them, & by the next day they were almost rock hard. Hard to recommend when Montreal has so many places doing it way better. I'd skip this one.

Very cute local shop. People are very very kind & patient with me. The food is made in house & the bagels are made fresh. Strongly recommend the space & please support local businesses.
