Crêperie St-Paul is frequently highlighted as a charming and cozy destination in Old Montreal, often praised for its delicious, satisfying, and fairly priced crepes. Many guests enjoy the relaxed atmosphere and appreciate the convenience of its location, finding it an ideal spot for a quick bite or a break while exploring the area. While a majority of visitors report positive experiences, noting friendly service and fresh food, some feedback indicates occasional inconsistencies in service speed and staff attentiveness. Despite mixed reviews regarding operational aspects, the restaurant remains a popular choice for those seeking a casual meal in a historic setting.
Had the Salmon Crêpe with a Fruit Cocktail & both were delicious. The salmon was fresh, the crêpe was perfectly cooked, & the fruit cocktail was really refreshing. The service was excellent they check up on us every 5 minutes fill us up water whenever. Woah! Also great atmosphere, & an excellent location in Old Montreal. Will definitely be back with my family!
Not sure how they have less then 4 stars & why some people gave 3 stars when they liked the food.
Place is lovely , poutine we had was fresh hot & a good portion, iced latte not sweet but coffee it's made with 10/10
The service & workers they were great set my wife & I up next some beautiful potted plants & awe enjoyed our short lunch & enjoyed the vibe of people shopping near by.
I had a fantastic experience here from start to finish. The staff prepared our order quickly, & everything arrived fresh & warm. I chose the banana, strawberry, & chocolate-hazelnut crêpe, & it was even better than I expected.
Thanks to Adam, who made the experience even better with his welcoming attitude & great customer service. It's always nice to be served by someone who genuinely cares about customers having a good experience.
The fruit was fresh, the filling was generous, & the crêpe had a perfect texture. What impressed me most was that the crêpe tasted great on its own. Even without any toppings, it was light, soft, & full of flavor.
The atmosphere was pleasant, & the quick service made the visit even more enjoyable. It's not often that a dessert stands out this much, but this one definitely did. If you're in the area & looking for a sweet treat, this spot is well worth a visit. I would happily order from here again.
Right in the middle of a lively food spot - surrounded by the buzz of people, the smell of fresh dishes, & that cozy, casual vibe - this place feels like the perfect stop when you're craving something really satisfying. Whether you're out with friends or just grabbing a quick bite, it's an easy go-to.
The food here honestly surprised me. I ordered a chicken & asparagus dish along with a Nutella strawberry banana crêpe, & both were amazing. The chicken was cooked perfectly - tender, flavorful, & paired really well with the asparagus. It felt fresh & not too heavy, which made it even better.
& then the crêpe… easily the highlight. Warm, soft, & filled with that perfect mix of Nutella, fresh strawberries, & bananas. Sweet without being too much, & just super satisfying. It's the kind of dessert you don't want to share.
The overall experience just hits right - good portions, great taste, & a chill atmosphere where you can actually enjoy your food. Definitely one of the best meals I've had in a while, & a spot I'd come back to without thinking twice.
Right in the heart of the historic district - surrounded by cobblestone streets, stone façades, & that unmistakable Old Town charm - this café feels like a perfect little pause button. Whether you're sightseeing, taking photos, or just wandering aimlessly through the old port area, it's an ideal stop to recharge.
The coffee here is honestly one of the best value finds in the area. In a neighborhood where prices can easily climb because of the tourist traffic, their $5 coffee feels like a small victory. & it's not just cheap - it's genuinely good. Rich, smooth, & properly brewed, it's the kind of cup you can sip slowly while watching the world pass by outside.
& then there are the crêpes. Fresh, warm, & surprisingly affordable, they're the perfect companion to your coffee. Light but satisfying, sweet without being overwhelming - exactly what you want when you're taking a break in the middle of exploring. It's rare to find a place in Old Montréal that offers both quality & reasonable pricing, especially right on Rue St-Paul E.
The atmosphere is relaxed & welcoming. It's the kind of café where you can comfortably sit for a while - not rushed, not overcrowded - just enjoying good food & good coffee in one of the most beautiful streets in the city. Whether you're a tourist or even a local rediscovering Old Montréal, this spot strikes that perfect balance between charm, comfort, & value.
Cozy place on the second floor. It's was a fairly busy time on a Sunday at the beginning of summer, but it wasn't very busy at all at 6:15, we were just the second table. By 7 PM it wasn't half full yet.
Crepes are about $15-20 each for a main course savoury crepe - they come with a fresh side salad - which was a light tasty side.
We tried 4 different savoury crepes - I would say that the crepes become a vehicle for the food, rather than the star attraction itself. The crepes are decent, fairly thick. For those who are unaware, the Quebec style is a thicker, crepe than you may get elsewhere (like Paris). I prefer the Paris version where it's crispy & elevated everything else. In this case, the food is great, but the crepe didn't really stand out at all.
The salmon & cream cheese surprisingly worked out as did the chicken & bacon (which I would have called corned beef instead of bacon).
We had a picky 9 year old who refused to eat it though, but that's more about him than the quality of the food.
I had the Nutella strawberry crepe. It was decent-the crepe was well made & the strawberries were fresh. That said, there was surprisingly little Nutella, which took away from the overall experience. Not a bad crepe, but I was expecting a bit more Nutella.
If you have a stroller, will have to fold & bring it upstairs to their restaurant. Very tight if you have a full size stroller. Mango smoothie - not available Shrimp crepe - not available Ordered 3 crepes, 2 arrived. Third only arrived after the first two were done & didn't arrive until everyone else in the restaurant ordered got their food. Turned out the staff had not put our order in until we asked. I suppose my lack if knowledge in French was the culprit. Crepes are freshly made. Has the right texture & look. A little bit thick. Chef was great.tried to set everything right.
