Chimaek Gana earns high praise for crispy, flavorful fried chicken and generous portions, with many diners raving about the Supreme chicken, Yangnyeom and other bold flavors that pair perfectly with a cold beer. The service is repeatedly described as friendly, attentive, and efficient, and the atmosphere is clean and welcoming, making it a solid pick for groups, dates, or casual meals. Reviewers also appreciate the variety of dishes from chicken and udon to conch salad, plus reliable sides like pickled radish and truffle fries, all offered at very reasonable prices for Montreal. A few notes mention menu changes and occasional pacing issues, but the overall experience remains highly recommended for those seeking great chicken, value, and a lively dining vibe.
I absolutely love the conch salad here: excellent flavour & very fun texture! Also, their fried chicken is, without a doubt, a must-try dish. This is my go to fried chicken place with great taste, generous portions & reasonable prices.

This place was hands down the best Korean restaurant I've ever been to in Montreal. I'd recommend the supreme chickens. If you like a bit more casual, the originals are also the 2nd best!
If you are looking for some authentic Korean food, this is probably the right place for you. We ordered dalgbal (chicken feet) & yangnyeom fried chicken, it was a lot of food for two ppl. Dalgbal came with rice & seaweed, you can make small rice balls & eat them together with the sauce. I know chicken feet is not for everyone, but it's tastier than it sounds! ;) Yangnyeom chicken was good, but it wasn't exactly what I expected. It was too sweat for us. They also have a patio on the top floor if you want to sit outside with the good weather.
The food quality has oscillated over the years. They had great affordable fried chicken, the Nyeomtta was the best. They then changed their chicken supplier 👎. They got the message real quick & reverted to the previous delicious one only to switch again, Nyeomtta is no more, & all is average food with too much salt & garlic. 😔
This place is renowned for their Korean fried chicken. We ordered their crispy chicken skins, classic fried chicken wings & tteokbokki . The wings were very crunchy but the Tteokbokki was my personal favorite.

La place est bien pour un bon repas de poulet rôti à la coréenne. Les services se font essentiellement en anglais même si le menu est bilingue. La musique d'ambiance coréenne est exceptionnelle
I used to love this place, but I was disappointed with the recent changes. The food quality seems different, & the portions have shrunk. For example, an order of chicken drumsticks used to include 10 pieces, but now it's only 8-& at a higher price.
We also tried a new appetizer from the menu: fried chicken skin. Unfortunately, it missed the mark. It was deep-fried, sprinkled with cumin powder, & served with an unfamiliar white sauce. The flavor was odd & didn't feel Korean at all.
I really hope they can return to the quality & value they once had.
