Also, their fried chicken is, without a doubt, a must-try dish. This is my go to fried chicken place with great taste, generous portions & reasonable prices.View more
Stunning Korean fried chicken. The seafood jjambbong i had was pretty bland, i didn't know why. I have ordered a several take out of their fried chicken After my first visit, here are a summary:
-baby powder: 5⭐/5⭐, simple, tasty, & not overpowering
-angry bird: 3⭐/5⭐, not a big fan of the sour spicy sauce, became monotone After a short while.
- honey butter: 3⭐/5⭐, too sweet for me
- yangnyeom: 4⭐/5⭐, classic Korean sauce, sweet & with flavors
- truffle fried chicken: 4⭐/5⭐, elevated by the parmesan cheese. Could get a little flavor fatigue in midway.
I wish to try their cajun cream, but it's no longer there (at least for the 3 times that i asked) I'll see if i try more flavors & update the postView more
If you are looking for some authentic Korean food, this is probably the right place for you. We ordered dalgbal (chicken feet) & yangnyeom fried chicken, it was a lot of food for two ppl. Dalgbal came with rice & seaweed, you can make small rice balls & eat them together with the sauce. I know chicken feet is not for everyone, but it's tastier than it sounds! ;) Yangnyeom chicken was good, but it wasn't exactly what I expected. It was too sweat for us. They also have a patio on the top floor if you want to sit outside with the good weather.View more
The food quality has oscillated over the years. They had great affordable fried chicken, the Nyeomtta was the best. They then changed their chicken supplier 👎. They got the message real quick & reverted to the previous delicious one only to switch again, Nyeomtta is no more, & all is average food with too much salt & garlic. 😔View more
This place is renowned for their Korean fried chicken. We ordered their crispy chicken skins, classic fried chicken wings & tteokbokki . The wings were very crunchy but the Tteokbokki was my personal favorite.View more
I used to love this place, but I was disappointed with the recent changes. The food quality seems different, & the portions have shrunk. For example, an order of chicken drumsticks used to include 10 pieces, but now it's only 8-& at a higher price.
We also tried a new appetizer from the menu: fried chicken skin. Unfortunately, it missed the mark. It was deep-fried, sprinkled with cumin powder, & served with an unfamiliar white sauce. The flavor was odd & didn't feel Korean at all.
I really hope they can return to the quality & value they once had.View more
Fried chicken was crispy but not particularly tasty. The sauce was all at the bottom & not on the chicken.
Very limited drink selection.View more
Amazing Valentine's Day & great KFC. Boyfriend was tragically disappointed by no longer having your buldak fried chicken 😭 #bringthemback would love a combo option so that non Koreans can taste your spicy dishes without committing 👌🏽View more
It was my first time trying this place which I kept hearing was great for fried chicken so I wanted to see what the hype was about. You have to reserve because it's always crowded so make sure you do.
When we got there, the place was indeed packed. We knew what we wanted to order so we ordered fairly quickly. We got the honey butter chicken with the truffle parmesan fries. The fries arrived first, & with them I asked for a pair of utensils. I tried the fries but they were cold, looked like they just threw a bunch of parmesan on it. No truffle taste whatsoever. I called the waiter & told them, they apologized & said they'll change it for us. & I re-asked for utensils that I still didn't get at that point. A few minutes later, the chicken came. It was a huge plate, so if you are two people, one plate is more than enough, & they looked absolutely delicious. I needed to wait for my utensils still. I asked another waiter who said they'll bring it right away. I never got my utensils until like 15 min later, when I was starting to get upset. The table in front of us was a large birthday table, with super loud people. They were really annoying we could barely hear ourselves talking.
The waiter brought us new fries which were better but still didn't taste like truffle.
The chicken was exquisite, very tasty & big pieces too.
I don't know if I would go again because the service wasn't great.View more
My go-to place for Korean Fried chicken. Great quantity & nice service. Tried many different flavours & loved most of them. Highly recommend the yangnyeom, honey butter, & baby powder. I didn't like the angry bird too much. Definitely recommend everything else though. Mostly bought take out but atmosphere was very nice as well (especially the second floor).View more
The more you are, the cheaper it gets. One of the best fried chicken spots. I recomment their seafood stew & the honey butter chicken.View more
Not only does the fried chicken taste good, it is also cheap! We always go as a group of 4+ people & order plenty of chicken (has to take home sometimes), & flavored soju (if available). Never costed us more than $30 all-in. They changed their menu recently a bit so some chicken flavors & side dishes were replaced with new ones. We'll see how the new stuffs are.View more
We come here every time we visit Montreal. Their fried chicken is very crunchy on the outside & juicy on the inside 👌🏻. The teobokki & fish cake soup were amazing!View more
The food was amazing & the waiters were very nice!! I tried their army stew last time & I loved it. It's perfect for the colder weather. This time we got the beef nabe & the Bul Galbi (bulgogi flavored fried chicken), & it did not disappoint! Beef nabe was very a clean but flavorful soup while the fried chicken stayed crispy even when it was swimming in sauce! Highly recommend!View more
Awesome spot for Korean fried chicken. The ambiance was also dark & moody which we loved. We got the Korean army stew (Budae Jjigae), classic boneless fried chicken with the red sauce, & truffle fries. We loved the experience & would definitely go back to try moreView more
Chimaek Gana serves some of the best fried chicken in Montreal! The chicken is perfectly crispy on the outside & incredibly juicy & tender on the inside, with flavors that burst no matter which option you choose. The service is impressively fast, & the staff is warm & welcoming. A must-visit for any fried chicken lover!View more
Nice bar atmosphere. I order the "angry bird " spicy sauce expecting a red spicy korean sauce but when it came it only taste like soy garlic sauce. I doubled check with the waitress & she confirmed it is what we order. It was not spicy at all, from a authentic korean fried chicken place I would expect the sauce be at least spicy. The wings were also tiny. The $10 baby powered fries were okay...small portionsView more
We were mainly here for the Korean fried chicken, they have a bunch of other delicious looking dishes as well. There is a decent selection of flavors for the fried chicken. They taste great & the portions are big, with a pint of Sapporo it's a nice meal.View more
Very cool place for Korean fried chicken :) reasonable price & quantity (See images for ref.) Fried chicken platters are around 22-28$ Service is on point. Batter is light & fluffy. The flavour comes mainly from the sauce. They have a good amount of flavour choices & along with the flavour choice you can also choose the "cut"; Boneless/Drumsticks/Wings I have had the "opportunity" (went 3 times this month :D) to try the: Nyeomtta: Very spicy (buldak spicy noodle like sauce) comes garnished with the actual noodle & topped with seaweed flakes. Bul galbi: The marinade probably most comon at most kbbq joints for the beef. (Sweet) comes with some veggies & rice cakes. Honey butter: I found it a tad too sweet but its honey so it is expected. Buttery taste was strong. Perfect if you are sharing with someone that ordered the Nyeomtta. Truffle: Very aromatic & strong truffle taste. This one had no sauce but is submerged in Parmesan. Pleasant surprise Comes with unlimited pickled radish too but last time I went (yesterday) there seemed to be an issue with the daikon prep so the waitress went & got us a bunch of take out radish. Super cool of her 🫰🏻 Dining room decorations were very cool. Nice ambience. Two floor layout with a basement kitchen making the dumb waiter usage a very cool system. All in all recommended if you are looking for great korean fried chicken with very reasonable price. For someone who eats a lot (I think) one order was more than enough. Good enough for two people with less appetite 🙂 Will go back without a doubt.View more
A Korean experience to be messed with ! Fried chicken bathed in signature sauces & spices, complemented with truffle & parmesan fries & some spicy salad, mouthwatering & filling. Very friendly staff, & the portions are huge making it a very price convenient visit. Must try !View more
The food is amazing here! Fried chicken is juicy & crispy & the fishcake soup was delicious. Just note that the tables are very small (especially emphasized when there's a whole gas stove on it) so you feel cramped in it. The service wasn't very attentive, you always have to call a waiter to receive service & they never come check on you. Same thing for the host, we waited 10 mins at the entrance while having a reservation & we had to call for his attention for him to come greet usView more
We had the Bul Galbi fried chicken it was so delicious & the sauce is amazing! The portions are generous , korean fried chicken is so crispy ! I had the baby powder it was okay ! I would try other flavors !View more
I dine in with my friends & we ordered tteokbokki, gamjatang, sweet potatoe fries, & fried chicken Angel Onion. The next morning, me & my friends ended up with HORRENDOUS food poisoning.... The food was delicious & it wasn't our first time dining there but it was our first food poisoning.View more
Check your garnishes if you order their soups/hotpot dishes. We found moldy garnish on a soup we ordered that I asked to be swapped out for a new one, yet now coming home I found myself with some mild food poisoning symptoms. Also our soup was missing ingredients as described on the menu, we ordered the pork bone soup with potatoes & there weren't any potatoes at all (the best part is arguably the potatoes) The chicken as ok, too much batter but it was perfectly cooked. Chicken was tender just like any good Korean fried chicken place. Slight disappointment, but maybe I ordered wrong & should have went with their higher volume/turnover dishes.View more
Delicious fried chicken, crispy & tender just right. Nice staff.View more
As a group, we ordered 3 plates of fried chicken & it was at least 60% batter without exception, very disappointing.View more
Ordered the bulgogi fried chicken from here several times. Recently it's noticeable that the meat is not fresh, I really like the way how they prepare fried chicken, hopefully they take more attention to the food safety.View more
A late review for one of my favorite fried chicken stores 🤩. Their portions are great, their fried chicken are fried super well that it stays crunchy! &, the saucing is generous. It's important to note that the different sauce & topping options are on the sweeter & saltier side personally. Their baby powder is also like a powdered sugar & parmesan mix if people are curious. That said, their options are very creative, there's fried chicken with tteokbokki or ramen with seaweed. There's also unlimited of radish pickles. It's important to note for spicy lovers that most of the spicy options aren't too spicy, more on the level of sweet & sour. There's not much non-alcoholic drink options as well compared to their alcohol selection, but they're still updating their menu, so hope this changes. But, definitely a great get together place with friends. Note that like, three plates might be enough for four people! One plate just for a person, well you're getting some nice leftovers to bring back.View more
Fried chicken was good but the rest was just okay. Service is good though. If you look for a place, which opens late, to have fried chicken, it could be one.View more
