The best Haitian food in all of Montreal! I don't know how it's possible to cook each grain of rice with love but they do it. I recommend this famous neighborhood spot to everyone

upon entering the restaurant a woman peers from behind a post with bewildered look at us. We say we would like to have supper here. She still looks surprised & we ask if we seat ourselves & she says yes. the room is dingy with dated decor (no, it was not an attempt at representing another era. It was stuck in another era along with dust from said era). The woman eventually arrived (no pleasantries, no greating & body language made us feel like unexpected & unwanted guests) with a menu but the Lambi we wanted was not available. We decided on chicken & my husband asked how it is cooked & was told with rice (not what we were asking, but I digress). we were served in a timely manner, but felt as though we were being told "here is the meal & leave". A pitcher of water was placed at the table but we were not asked if we wanted drinks or dessert. I have to say I cannot say I've ever had a worse dining experience even though I've had worse food. The food was not bad but had I stayed home I could have had the same with less salt shock

It's a Saturday night , we drove 45 minutes from across Montreal based on a recommendation that it was the best Haitian restaurant in town.We arrived at 6:45 pm the place was empty , no ambiance, no music & a look of why are you people here from the woman who was doing mostly phone orders. We sat at a table for 2 because there was reserved signs at all the other 4 tables but no one came in during our entire stay.We had driven this far to get a taste of Lambi only to be told there was none left (WOW on a Saturday Night) we were given menus by a woman who made us feel as welcome as a Democrat to a Trump dinner. We were given water & a self serve jug & had we not saved our appetite & hunger we would have left at that moment, We gave it one last chance, maybe if they had music we would not have to hear the woman going to the bathroom 15 feet away, The food was sub par & over fried chicken, all in all if it any consolation , We have driven 2500 kilometers to Miami Beach to enjoy real Haitian Food at TAP TAP & this place needs a serious revamp.
