We went to Brasserie Lionel because we wanted a French bistrot experience on the south shore. First, I must say it's a shame that one must go through a mall to enter the restaurant. It takes away a little of the ambiance. The restaurant itself is quite nice, with very high ceilings, & a modern decor.
We ordered oysters, which were quite small, but with oysters, it's what is available at the time. The mignonette sauce was too sweet for the oysters & the Tabasco sauce that comes with the platter was impossible to open so we gave up.
The first course, which in my case was a salade de chevre chaud, was forgettable. It was not at all what a salade de chevre chaud should be. The cheese concoction on top of the salad was much like a pancake, & not very appetizing. My partner's iceberg salad was ok at best.
The main course, which took 35-40 minutes to arrive, was absolutely delicious. Both of our mains, my chicken & my partner's joues, were outstanding.
Dessert, (profiteroles) again lacked flavour, & was forgettable.
We had the impression that there were two distinct teams preparing the meal for that evening. The entrees, appetizers & desserts seem to be prepared by one team (the not so good team to be blunt) & the mains, by a chef who knows what he/she is doing. It is not an inexpensive restaurant, so one would expect the quality of each course to be the same.

Nous avons mangé chez Chez Lionel l'été dernier & tout était délicieux. Les plats étaient savoureux, bien présentés & préparés avec des ingrédients de qualité. Les fruits de mer étaient frais & généreux, & chaque assiette donnait vraiment envie.
L'ambiance est chaleureuse & conviviale, parfaite autant pour un souper en couple qu'entre amis. Le service était attentionné & professionnel, ce qui rend l'expérience encore plus agréable.
Une très belle adresse à découvrir (ou redécouvrir) au DIX30. Nous y retournerons avec plaisir!
I have been to this place twice this week, & both visits were just excellent. Service is rapid & friendly, food is good (both taste, quality & quantity), & atmosphere is lively & jovial. The menu is quite versatile & the prices are reasonable. I totally recommend it!

Je croyais que c'était un resto un peu plus gastronomique. Mon repas était correct mais sans plus considérant le prix. Catégorie chaîne de resto comme la cage. Réputation surfaite selon moi. Le service quand à lui était parfait.
I ordered the 30$ breakfast plate, coffee not even included. Sausage had weird after taste. All 4 coffees were served 20 mins later, served barely warm. The food was basic, eggs over cooked too. Not impressed, one of the worst breakfasts I've ever had for this price. 1 sausage, 2 flimsy pieces of bacon, 2 eggs, little chunk of riette & 1 piece of tiny toast. I did love the ambiance & the decor of the restaurant. That's about it.
