Review Summary

Chez l'Éditeur is generally praised for its cozy, library-like atmosphere that serves as an excellent space for working, reading, or socializing. While many visitors enjoy the coffee, selection of books, and welcoming staff, experiences regarding food quality vary significantly, with some guests finding the snacks and beverages lacking in flavor or freshness. Despite concerns from some about pricing and consistency, the café remains a popular neighborhood spot for those seeking a bright, spacious environment to study or unwind.

What an atmosphere! Glad I discovered the place waiting for an appointment. What else would anybody want other than fine coffee & small plates & BOOKS to read?

This has become one of my go-to spots to work, read, & unwind. The café is very spacious, with a unique book-focused setup; it almost feels like a library at first. The coffee was great. Highly recommended for anyone in the neighborhood looking for a comfortable place to read or get some work done.

I love their coffee & the atmosphere of books & couches. My only complaint is that often I walk in & no one is at the counter; I am not sure if that means they are understaffed but it had happened too often to be a coincidence. I usually go for the mocha...& their breakfast sandwich but the machine has been broken for awhile it seems.

The coffee is always delicious! It's a lighter roast espresso bean typical of cafes of this genre, so it's fruity & acidic. I love their filter coffee--I just wish they would fill the mugs all the way. Service is hit & miss, but there is ample seating area (including couches!).

Such a beautiful place with such terrible coffee. The food is pretty nice one, I tried the brownie & it was one of the best in town, but the coffee blend used for my espresso taste sour. It reminds more the taste of an empty stomach vomit than coffee, so better order something else to drink. The place is very good for working on the weekend in some busy atmosphere. The book choice is pretty nice in case you wanna buy some. BUT DON'T TRY COFFEE THERE! Don't make this mistake.

Good latté. Quiet at 9h. Lots of fresh pastries. Books (en français) available for browsing while having coffee. Tables. Window counter with stools. Armchairs. Long table for groups. “Café littéraire”
