There’s nothing quite like the aroma and taste of meat grilled to perfection over coals. At Casa Vinho, they broil meats, fish and seafood over charcoal; the smell will make your mouth water the minute the cooks start grilling your meal. All of the grilled dishes are Portuguese specialties made with spices typical of this magnificent European country.
A large part of the charm of this Rosemont resto is comfort. The décor is typically Portuguese and introduces patrons to the culture of this warm and colorful country. Whether you’re dining with friends, colleagues or family, the warm and courteous welcome you’ll receive at Casa Vinho will make your meal relaxing and rich dining experience. Portuguese music, featuring traditional Portuguese Fado singing, will nurture your soul and open your heart to Portuguese culture. What do the Magdalen Islands and Portugal have in common? Casa Vinho!
One of the owners of Casa Vinho is a native of the Magdalen Islands. Her Madelinot accent adds to the maritime flavor of Casa Vinho. The manner in which the seafood and fish are prepared is a blend of Portuguese and Magdalen Islands culinary traditions. A wine list is available featuring a range of wines to accompany charcoal-broiled dishes.
Casa Vinho stands out as a neighborhood favorite for Portuguese cuisine, with standout octopus, shrimp, salmon and cod, including a particularly delicate cod dish. The service is warm and attentive, with friendly staff guiding through the menu and keeping glasses refreshed. The atmosphere is cozy and vintage, a family friendly vibe that feels like a village restaurant in Europe. Dishes are simple yet flavorful, with vegetables cooked to perfection and seafood that is tender and generous, while the house wine is good and affordable. Desserts such as pastel de nata and creme caramel are well loved, though a few notes mention bread not being a strength and the creme brulee not being ideal. Reservations seem helpful but not always required, and many guests say they would return to enjoy the hearty meals and the overall value. In sum, Casa Vinho comes across as a delightful local gem offering solid Portuguese fare, generous portions, and friendly, attentive service.
Beau restaurant à la décoration simple & accueillante. Bon service.
Very good food. The shrimp croquettes tasted a bit too much of fish & not enough of shrimp plus there was only 1 shrimp per croquettes. The sardines were amazing!! Perfectly grilled sardines. We also had the scallops & they were sheer perfection... however the squid was just a little tough, but the taste was spot on!! I would highly recommend this restaurant. Only negative point; the service was a bit slow after the main course... they picked up our plates but never came back for 20 mins to ask if we wanted coffee or dessert. By that time we just wanted to leave & had to ask another server for our bill... Unfortunate we missed out on the dessert. Too bad I really wanted to taste the pastel de nata.

Miamm!
