Review Summary

Cafeterra is widely regarded as a charming and cozy destination in Old Montreal, celebrated for its welcoming atmosphere, beautiful decor, and high-quality breakfast and brunch offerings. Many patrons praise the delicious, fresh food, particularly the avocado toast, shakshuka, and diverse selection of pastries and coffees, while also noting the intentional, relaxing environment fostered by the policy against laptop use. Although the majority of visitors experience friendly and attentive service, some guests have expressed dissatisfaction regarding the practice of paying before receiving their orders, occasional inconsistencies in service speed, or rigid seating policies during peak hours. Overall, it remains a highly recommended spot for those looking to enjoy a well-curated dining experience in a peaceful and aesthetic setting.

Je suis venu pour les vacances à Montréal avec mon amie & on a découvert ce superbe restaurant ! L'équipe très à l'écoute & très gentil, les plats excellents ! Je recommande à 100% :)

Came here for lunch & really enjoyed it. Got the smoked salmon croissant & wife got the avocado toast. We both loved it & the side potatoes are great as well! Great stop for lunch in old town.

Cafeterra is a gem among the restaurants & cafes here. It's a small & upscale place with exceptionally well prepared & tasty food. Their pastries are delightful as well!

The coffees are masterfully prepared - seriously. The mugs, cups & stemware are very fun as well & elevate the experience.

It's best for daytime meals including brunch. I've been coming here for years as a special treat with friends & family. It's first come, first serve for seating, so if you have a larger group it may be tough at peak hours.

I'll keep coming back for sure!

I like to support Ukrainian owned businesses & this one was conveniently located near Notre Dame.
In terms of food & coffee, it was pretty average & didn't match the many other great breakfast spots in Montreal, so I wouldn't return.
I had the vegetarian avocado toast, & felt the bread was a bit soggy - a crustier sourdough would help. The espresso macchiato was very dark roasted & also not my favorite.
