If you search Cafe van Houtte, you'll find at least 3 cafes with versions of name. Are they modifying the name so that the bad reviews of one doesn't reflect on the other?
The coffee's not great & the sandwiches aren't either. The prices are outrageous & the bathroom was filthy. The Middle Eastern server is very abrupt & doesn't have any idea of how to talk to people, especially older women. I didn't have a problem with him. When they're a little off-putting, I let it go. (I went to a college that had a lot of middle easterners studying petroleum engineering. They were all abrupt with women, with variations depending on the country & whether they were a prince or not. You learn to not to take the badgering personally. I felt really sorry for this lady as she kept asking something . He just kept repeating the same thing loudly while clearly not answering her question. She was timidly & politely trying to inquire about something, but he didn't have any patience with. I don't think she ever got what she wanted.

If you have a thick skin, it's near your office, & you have a lot of money to blow on substandard food & coffee, this is the place for you.
