Café Larue & Fils is described in reviews as a cozy neighborhood café with a welcoming vibe, a pleasant terrace, and plentiful seating that makes it a good spot to work or catch up with friends. The coffee is widely praised, with lattes, flat whites and cappuccinos often highlighted as well made and reasonably priced, and desserts such as carrot cake receive compliments. The atmosphere tends to be relaxed and not too noisy, though a few visits feel crowded or the space becomes stuffy when busy, and music can be a bit loud. Service is frequently described as friendly and professional, but some guests mention moments of brusqueness or feeling overlooked. Overall it comes across as a popular, dependable stop that many visitors say they would return to.
Coffee is pretty good. But that's all that is good about this place. The barista serving you is not friendly & does not smile. Ruins the whole experience. Unfortunately, I won't be back.
Sipping on a cappuccino alone at a neighborhood café in Villeray, Montreal. There's something quietly poetic about sitting at the counter, cradling warmth in a cup, while watching the ballet of baristas in a bustling afternoon. It's moments like these-amid the clatter & whirl of coffee machines-that I find a peaceful solitude, a gentle space to breathe & just be. Here, in the unnoticed corners of the day, life's simple beauties unfold. #CafeReflections #MontrealMoments
Staff was incredibly friendly & my partner said the matcha was one of the best she's had( & she's a matcha addict!) Only disappointment I have is I was hoping to find a nice place to study, but they've covered all the outlets, so I was unable to charge my laptop to keep working. Altogether though, for a coffee date, the place seems perfect.
Coffee is fine, guy behind the counter was blurting out some pretty distasteful jokes to customers as they were lining up. Many seemed annoyed, maybe chill it out... lol
Tant pis!
Café Larue & fils is a delightful coffee haven that I stumbled upon recently, & it's safe to say it has become my new favorite spot. The ambiance of the café is cozy & inviting, with a rustic charm that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in. The coffee here is simply exceptional - rich, aromatic, & brewed to perfection. Whether you're a fan of classic espresso or fancy a more adventurous latte, they have it all, & each cup is made with care & expertise. What really sets this café apart is its mouth-watering selection of pastries & light bites. Everything is freshly made & delicious, perfect for pairing with your coffee. Their croissants are a must-try - flaky, buttery, & just divine! The staff deserves a special mention for their warm & friendly service. They greet everyone with a smile & are always ready to offer recommendations or have a pleasant chat, adding a personal touch to the overall experience. Whether you're looking for a place to relax & unwind with a book, catch up with friends, or simply grab a quick coffee to go, Café Larue & fils is the ideal spot. It's not just a café; it's a little community hub that makes you feel welcome every time.
Super bon service ce matin, le barista a bien effectué mon macchiato. C'était excellent ! Je recommande. Petit café (sans prise pour vos ordinateurs/tablettes, mais l'ambiance est amusante & relaxante).
