My family & I were recently in Montreal, & happened to stumble upon this beautiful coffee shop. The atmosphere was so cool & the coffee & breakfast items we had were divine! Hands down the best pancakes I've ever had - paired with the most delicious iced latte. Montreal has the best coffee & food I've ever had, but this cafe holds a special place in my heart. TLDR: Their pastries are served frozen; I wouldn't go back.
We came across this café on a walk & decided to stop in since the decor was cute & it had good reviews. We ordered a slice of carrot cake (which was quite pricey) & a drink. We took a table & sat down. When we started eating, we realized the cake was still frozen & rock hard, with ice inside. Since we had already paid for it, we tried cutting it into small pieces & waiting for it to thaw.
We debated whether to say anything but eventually decided to mention it. When we told them (the waiter &/or owner) that the cake was frozen, their explanation was as follows:'All our pastries, including croissants & cakes, arrive frozen. You need to leave them at room temperature to defrost.' We were never informed that we had to wait before eating it, they never warmed it up, nor did we have the time to sit around for it to thaw completely. I would think a café would serve their pastries ready to eat.
Overall, I'd rather go to a café where pastries are ready to eat when served.
Je recommande vivement cet endroit ! Le personnel est très accueillant & satisfait toutes demandes. Le brunch est tout simplement incroyable. L'atmosphère chaleureuse avec une bonne playlist font de cette place, une place au TOP !
Toujours un plaisir de venir bruncher au Café Magnolia. Personnel super accueillant & sympathique. Les plats sont bons & beaux. Meilleur latté caramel glacé 🫶🏻
Bagel au saumon simple mais bon & pas trop cher. Le latté manquait n'était pas assez corsé à mon goût. Personnel très serviable & très gentil. L'étoile en moins est pour la musique un peu trop forte & aussi les chaises qui ne sont pas confortables pour les personnes taille forte. Je suis allée sur l'heure du midi.
Excellent brunch qui a du goût!! Le personnel est incroyablement avenant & gentil & surtout à l'écoute. Merci encore pour ce chouette brunch délicieux que nous avons partagé en famille avec notre amie! Un vrai régal! L'endroit est propre & joliment décoré donc super agréable !
Les oeufs bénédictine ici sont absolument parfaits avec des portions généreuses & cette sauce hollandaise est simplement divine & le café Magnolia accompagne merveilleusement le tout!
