We decided to celebrate the holidays by visiting Buffet Chinois Mandarin on Taschereau because prior to the pandemic, this had been a tradition of ours at the LaSalle location which has unfortunately closed down. We showed up at 5:40 PM on the weekend & the restaurant has two people in it. Not a good sign. As we approach the host station to be seated, one of the seated persons gets up & I realize this is the server. Another bad sign. I mention that we are two people & he does not greet us, or smile, & instead he leads us to the bar area & hands me the credit card machine totaling over $80. I was surprised so I asked if this included tip or service fee & he says no & I realize we're going to have to pay close to a hundred bucks before even taking off our coats. I turn to my dining guest & I mention I am not comfortable paying & tipping for a meal when quite clearly at least the service is frosty. We turn around & as we walk out, there are colour prints of all at least a dozen people who are banned from the restaurant. This reinforced that we had just made the right decision as this does not create a quality dining atmosphere that warrants spending over $50/person once you factor in drinks, any extras, tip etc. Asking customers to pay upfront for meals is the height of bad manners because it immediately communicates that the business does not trust the customer. It is not welcoming or inviting, nor does not establish a warm reception or rapport, & if such a policy has been implemented because some individuals have expressed concerns over their meals or tried to dine & dash, well all I can say is that most customers don't want to be lumped into such categories simply for walking through the door. The whole point of going to a buffet is that people want to feel like they can indulge & get good value for their money. This restaurant made us feel like we were criminals & unwelcome upon arrival. Pretty much the blueprint of exactly how not to treat a customer & frankly I am dumbfounded as how this establishment has managed to keep its doors open, especially since so many restaurants have been trying to reestablish themselves this past year. It seems like this should be common sense within the hospitality industry. Completely unbelievable.

Trop cher pour le peux de choix, on doit payer avant de manger & le pourboire est aussi à payer avant, notre serveur est aussi le livreur. Poulet trop cuit & sec. 4 sortes de légumes seulement, egg roll qui goûtent la vieille friture, plusieurs plats ne sont pas chauds & que dire de la propreté qui laisse à désirer. Restaurant à bannir.

Serveur agressif il a dit carrément à 2 dames qu'elles étaient trop grosses pour la banquette ,à un couple il a refusé de changer un verre sale disant y a pas problème ça sort du lave vaisselle donc vous garder ce verre & à 2 autres table il a fait une crise car le pourboire pas assez haut à son goût & une dame seule & âgée lui a remis 5$ de plus pour quitter précipitamment . J'étais abasourdie alors pour notrefacture de 55$ on a fait le test avec 3$ de pourboire & il s est pogné avec mon chum solide. La bouffe vraiment médiocre, pas de choix autre que panure & vraiment déplaisant comme sortie en amoureux n allez pas la svp🙏🙏de plus je soupconne qu il soit le gérant car il acceuille ,place,sert,débarrasse les tables,fait payer,répond au téléphone pour les.commandes apportées & reservation clissement pas nornal

Mauvaise expérience! Le restaurant est dégoûtant & quoi dire de la nourriture, même pas mangeable. Je ne conseille pas à personne. Honnêtement, je ne comprends pas comment un restaurant de même peut être ouvert. Juste de voir l'aquarium à l'entrée ça laisse beaucoup à dire.

Très déçu du nouveau resto buffet mandarin, aucun changement même décor que l'ancien Fu lam,tapis sales, banquettes défraîchis & buffet du midi médiocre & dégueulasse & je ne parle pas du service. Bonne appétit
