Brussco is a new Italian restaurant opening in the heart of McMasterville, founded by two friends. Driven by a shared passion for great food and genuine hospitality, they’ve created a warm, welcoming space where people come together to enjoy delicious meals and unforgettable moments.
With a varied menu designed to please all tastes, Brussco celebrates the richness of Italian cuisine — from classic pastas and crisp salads to bold pizzas and flavorful grilled dishes. Whether you're in the mood for a casual dinner or a special night out, there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Brussco is celebrated for its Italian fare with generous portions, including pizzas, pastas, seafood, and entrees, with flavors described as fresh and well prepared. The atmosphere is warm and the service attentive, and the experience is noted for good value and the option to bring your own wine. Reservations are often advised as the restaurant is popular and can get busy, and while the decor is comfortable and the dining room bright, some reviews mention limited parking and crowding on peak nights; overall the menu variety and consistent quality of ingredients make Brussco a standout choice.
Prompt & attentive service. We appreciated being told by our waitress, to signal when we would like our main Dish. Méals where hot when we received Them, & délicious
The food was great & the portions were bigger than expected. It is a bit expensive, but the servings are generous. One thing that would make the experience better is the menu, all the plate names are in Italian, & adding English or French translations would make it less overwhelming for the customer.
The service was good, & I love that it's a Bring Your Own Wine restaurant. I also really appreciated that they were not pushy about the tip, that only encouraged me to give more.
Oh, sure, if you enjoy being personally victimized by incredible value & authentic flavor, then Brussco in McMasterville is a real nightmare. Honestly, save yourself the trouble & stay in Montreal where you can pay $220 for a meal that tastes like a lukewarm microwave dinner-at least there, your wallet won't feel so heavy & burdened afterward.
But if you must go, here is what you're in for:
The Review: A Total Disaster of Quality
The'Problematic' Value
First of all, they have the audacity to let you bring your own wine. Because clearly, we all love having extra money left over at the end of the month. The entire bill-two appetizers, two mains, & a latte-came to $110 including tax & tip. It's frankly offensive. In Montreal, I could have paid double that for half the food & the added luxury of a waiter who forgets my name three times. Who does Brussco think they are, being'reasonable'?
The Meatball Extortion
We started with'Nona's' homemade meatballs. I felt genuinely threatened. They were so soft & perfectly spiced with that mix of veal & pork that I was convinced a grandmother was actually lurking in the kitchen, waiting to beat me with a leather shoe if I left a single bite of that rich tomato sauce behind. The psychological pressure to enjoy something that delicious is just uncalled for.
An Actual Caesar Salad
Then came the Caesar salad. Imagine my shock when it actually tasted like... a Caesar salad. They used real anchovies in a homemade dressing. Apparently, they didn't get the memo that modern restaurants are supposed to use bottled mayo & call it a day. It was vibrant, salty, & authentic-absolutely exhausting for my taste buds.
The Main Event Cruelty
My friend had the All-Dress Pizza, which had the nerve to have a perfect'in-between' crust-not too thin, not too thick-& a criminal amount of cheese. I suffered through the Veal Parmesan. It was tender, loaded with cheese, & served with roasted vegetables that actually tasted like they grew in soil rather than a lab. It had that specific'Italian taste' that makes you realize how much you've been settling for elsewhere. It's really quite rude of them to set the bar this high.
The Final Insult
To top it off, I ordered a decaf latte. Now, usually, decaf is supposed to taste like sad brown water. Not here. It was strong, rich, & delicious. They can't even let you have a mediocre coffee to end the night? & the service? Excellent & kind. Just disgusting.
Summary: Don't go here. I mean, unless you want better food than anything in Montreal for a fraction of the cost. I'll be going back, but only so I can continue to be outraged by how much I love it.
Best italian food by far! I think i ordered 3 times in a week!! The meatballs, sausage entrée, aranccini, paninis..everything is amazing!! Super fresh, delicious..already looking forward to my next orde
Not sure if I just ordered the wrong meal but I don't see what is so great about this place. I was not the only person in my party of five who was disappointed. I would not choose to return unless obligated to be polite & attend someone elses event dinner. I ordered the meatball appetizer, they were tasty but a little salty. My main dish was the chicken paninni, I did not even eat a third of my sandwich, nor the fries. The whole meal was pasty, so much so that when asked if I wanted to take it home my response was no. I told the waitress that is was too pasty, the initial tasting was positive. Sure it had a nice taste/ flavor but was just non edible after a few bites, quite the turn off.

Great atmosphere. Friendly staff. Plate servings are very generous. Their hand tossed home made pizza compares to the Pizzeria's in Little Italy in Montreal.
