About

Bon Gout Dumpling specializes in the craft of traditional Asian dumplings, focusing on thin, elastic wrappers encasing savory, hand-prepared fillings. The menu highlights a variety of steaming techniques that preserve the natural juices and delicate textures of both meat and vegetable options. Alongside these signature dumplings, the establishment serves clear, aromatic broths and hearty soups designed to complement the primary starch-focused dishes. Each plate emphasizes balanced seasoning and consistent preparation methods that prioritize authentic flavor profiles. Guests encounter a straightforward dining environment where the efficiency of the kitchen reflects a commitment to technical precision. The culinary presentation remains functional, focusing entirely on the structural integrity of the dim sum and the depth of the soup stocks provided to patrons.

Review Summary

Bon Gout Dumpling is widely celebrated for its authentic and delicious selection of handmade dumplings, savory noodle dishes, and flavorful soups. Many visitors highlight the juicy, well-stuffed nature of the dumplings and the rich broth found in their noodle soups, often describing the experience as a comforting, high-quality taste of home. The restaurant is frequently praised for its clean and cozy atmosphere, reasonable pricing, and welcoming staff who are often noted for their attentive service. While the vast majority of guests have a wonderful experience and plan to return, occasional feedback suggests that online order management or staffing levels can sometimes cause minor delays. Overall, it is considered a standout destination in the Montreal area for those seeking fresh, traditional Chinese comfort food.

Their dumplings are more juicier than siu long bao from elsewhere! The beef noodles are also delicious! Highly recommended!

Growing up in Asia, I've had my fair share of dumplings, but the ones at this place really stood out. The dumpling skins are noticeably thick, which I believe suggests a Northern Chinese style. It was my first time trying dumplings with such a thick skin, & I was pleasantly surprised. They are hearty, flavorful, & reasonably priced, especially considering there is soup inside each one. They also offer pan-fried versions, & the thicker skin creates a crispy crust.

Reply to the owner: don't change the thickness, I know it's not Xiao Long Bao. I like the way it is right now!
