About

Biru Biru specializes in the preparation of Japanese culinary staples with a focus on fresh sushi and expertly executed grilled items. Patrons select from an extensive array of nigiri, maki, and sashimi prepared with precise knife techniques and high-quality seafood sourcing. The menu further extends into the realm of traditional Japanese grill preparations, emphasizing the smoky char and bold flavors inherent in authentic charcoal cooking methods. The interior layout prioritizes functional efficiency, catering to diners who favor a straightforward and focused approach to meal service. This establishment maintains a commitment to consistent flavor profiles across its raw and cooked offerings alike. Its culinary identity remains rooted in the balance between delicate, vinegared rice preparations and the intense heat of the robata-style grill stations located on site.

Review Summary

Biru Biru provides a diverse all-you-can-eat dining experience in Montreal that receives mixed feedback from guests. Many patrons praise the fresh, high-quality sushi, flavorful grilled meats, and the convenient online ordering system, frequently highlighting the welcoming atmosphere and efficient service as reasons for their return. Conversely, some diners have reported concerns regarding inconsistent food quality, slow service during busy periods, and frustrations over mandatory tipping policies. While the restaurant is often celebrated as a top destination for social gatherings and groups, experiences can vary significantly based on individual expectations and interactions with the staff.

Food: It's an all-you-can-eat sushi place. What can I say? Service: You can scan a QR code to use their mobile app to order sushi. While it was convenient, the waitress failed to bring us everything we ordered. Every time she forgot one or two items. We didn't say anything. After all, it's an all-you-can-eat restaurant. We just ordered some more. But, why have an online order system if you are gonna be clumsy with orders? She was the only waitress during the lunch hour, so it was really hard to get her attention. She forgot to bring us the coke & ice cream we ordered also. Ambience: They kept on playing this annoying, cheap Japanese music, which was very painful to listen to. At the end, it drove me to the brink of madness. Overall, I believe there are better all-you-can-eat sushi places in MTL.
