Food was good as always, we've been eating here at least 6-7 times a week (lunch&dinner) over the past month. Today was the worst in service, they had 2 big tables of customers (& 1 table for kids, they were rather all around the restaurant, clambering over the empty tables, running in & out) & the rest of the restaurant had to wait for their orders if they were lucky enough to catch a waiter/waitress to order! Some customers were tired of waiting & left without ordering. My son dropped his fork, there weren't any staff around to get a new one of course, he ate his fish&chips with his hands as he was starving! We couldn't order the 2nd drinks, or desserts! & once we walked to the reception & complained, we were given the attitude by the gentleman who walked to our table, saying'but I'm here now, I'll get you what you want!' - completely ignoring what we got to say. We did at least get our bill after complaining, & my son got to get a scoop of ice cream.
Unfortunately we won't be coming again!

We have always had good experience with the lovely waiters & waitresses at this restaurant before, EXCEPT one young lady forcefully insisted that we leave a tip after figuring out we're not from Canada (we've always been generous with our tipping until that point & it was the first time she had served us).

I think they turned off the air conditioning too soon 😞 It was a little uncomfortable at times. However the mussels were tasty.

Unfortunately we were going ounce every 2 weeks,usually ordering the grilled octopus. Few weeks ago, it was so cold!!! I did not say a word but tonight, almost no octopus, tons od oignond, really really bad.
They can not repeat the quality of a plate each week. I am not even sure i will go back
Update as of june 2024:
Service was great. Food was good i ordered the grilled octopus ( great plate) & the burrita ( unfortunately not at room temperature..very cold) but overall happy.
2023 Terrible service. The lady came 3 times to ask me uf i was finished already.

Had a slightly disappointing experience here. Lots of flies, dirty windows & floors, & a green salad that was served with lettuce that was turning bad. The pizzas were okay, but not overly tasty or unique. The saving grace was perhaps our server. She was kind & understanding in replacing the salad. Also, I recommend the tequila & agave syrup drink. It was very tasty but I forget it's name in the menu.

I don't think I'll come back here though. It was okay to curb a random pizza craving that evening but it wasn't memorable, which makes the negatives stand out.

Unfortunately they have changed the menu & the quality has gone down quite a bit… My salmon poke bowl tasted like it had been sitting in the fridge waiting for someone to order it. It was not freshly made. The seafood tortellini was tasty but it was a very small portion. The grilled octopus appetizer was okay but it was over-cooked. A little tough to eat. The drinks were good though!
It was weird how the restaurant was completely empty (on a Saturday evening 7pm) except for another table, & a few guys having beers & shots at the bar.

Birreria Italico is an awesome restaurant with fantastic service, great food, 48 imported beers on tap, tons of yummy cocktails, gorgeous relaxing rustic & modern decor, & a wood fired oven which is hard to find nowadays! I highly recommend this restaurant!!!

Had a dinner reservation with my coworkers here & our service was awesome! There were so many choices for drinks & food too. Personally, I'd say they are not one of those strict only Italian food kinda restaurants, which to each their own but for our group I think it worked out really well. We were quite a big group & being a waiter in my younger days I know it can be difficult, so kudos to the server for doing a good job with coordinating everything. I would not be disappointed in the slightest if we came here again. Thanks again!

My favourite place in Montreal. Nice, rustical wooden ambient, great atmosphere, 49 different beers on tap & good food. Waitresses are amazing & friendly, cant wait to come back
