Seul bémol, on nous a dit qu'on ne pouvait rester que 2h.
We visited this Syrian restaurant as a family of six, & it was our first time trying their cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious - we really enjoyed everything we ordered.
However, the service left much to be desired. We noticed that the waitstaff were attentive to other tables, frequently checking in to see if anything more was needed. In contrast, our table was largely overlooked. We had to go to the front desk just to get our water refilled, & no one came by to see if we wanted to place additional orders.
It was disheartening to feel out of place, as we seemed to be the only ones from a different cultural background. After placing our initial order, no staff member returned to our table, & I eventually had to go to the front again to request the bill.
While we loved the food & were keen to return, the lack of attention & warmth in service made us decide otherwise.
The food was pricey, but it was outstanding & worth it. The receptionist was wonderful & so were the wait staff. Will be going back
Waiter made us feel unwelcome & a bother. Luckily rest of wait staff were pleasant. Food was delicious. Nice decor. There was supposed to be a musician but it was canceled.
We visited Beroya on Easter & had a great experience! The meal started off like a traditional mezza, with a variety of flavorful appetizers, followed by a delicious BBQ as the main course. The highlight at the end was definitely the ashta ice cream for dessert, so good! The food, atmosphere, & service made it memorable. I would definitely come back.
90% of people will like their food. For me, the food is ok but enjoyable. The reason for three stars is, it was overpriced.
Cheap Ingredients & not well trained Cooks:
The olive oil was bitter. Chicken & shrimp were overcooked. The portion of kebab or kafta was properly cooked but the others were overcooked. By the texture, it seems they buy minced meat instead of buying good quality cuts & mincing it themselves with the proper amount of fat. I could also tell by the lack of beefy flavor, it tastes very similar to local grocery store meat quality. Which is not ideal for an overpriced restaurant. The fish was perfectly cooked but then again, it was a cheap frozen fish fillet. Like the same one you can buy from Costco.
The only thing that was great is the warm fresh bread. But then again they use the cheap pita bread in the dishes.
I spent close to $400 for me & my wife with two kids. Can't complain about the portion even though it was less. Things are just more expensive here. It won't be the same type of portions when it comes to high-end restaurants in some European & middle East countries.
