Review Summary

Beroya offers an authentic Levantine experience with fresh flavorful mezze and generously portioned mains like kebabs and kafta, making it easy to share a wide variety of dishes with friends and family. The hummus, mutabbal, tabbouleh, fattoush, and other mezzes are repeatedly praised for their freshness and balance of flavors, and the grilled selections are described as juicy and well seasoned. The atmosphere feels warm and lively, with attentive staff who help guide the tasting experience and ensure a smooth service, though weekends can be crowded and the room may get loud. Some guests note higher prices and occasional variability in certain dishes, but many feel the quality and hospitality still deliver strong value and a memorable night out. Overall, Beroya is regarded as a standout Syrian Lebanese venue in the area, a reliable choice for a celebratory dinner or a flavorful group meal that leaves guests planning a return visit.

I had a pretty average experience at Beroya this time around. I visited a couple of years ago & remember the food being noticeably better in both quality & flavour, so my expectations were fairly high. Beroya is known for Syrian cuisine with an Aleppo-inspired focus, & the venue itself is spacious with a proper bar set-up, so it has the makings of a great night out, but the food just didn't hit the same on this visit.

Parking was available, which was a plus, but the interior is starting to feel tired & could really use a refresh. As for the meal, the knafeh, fattoush & eggplant kebab were disappointing, while the rest of what we tried was acceptable (nothing terrible, just not memorable). Overall, it wasn't a bad visit, just not as good as it used to be.

Great service delicious food. Loved the fresh bread. Takes you back to home town Syria. I can truly say haven't had kebab this tasteful for so long.

The Shankaleesh was to die for. The portion size was generous which makes the price worth it. Both kebab choices (khashkash & the cherry kebab) were juicy & flavourful. It was worth the trip!

We had a wonderful dining experience at Restaurant Beroya in Montréal. From the moment we walked in, the warm & welcoming atmosphere set the tone for an authentic Syrian meal. The standout dish for us was the hummus incredibly smooth, rich in flavor, & clearly made with care & tradition. It's easily some of the best we've ever had. The meat dishes were also exceptional: perfectly grilled & seasoned with a fragrant blend of spices that brought out the depth of the cuisine. The kebab & chicken were tender, juicy, & full of flavor without being overpowering. Portions were generous, & everything was beautifully presented. The service was friendly & attentive, with staff happy to explain dishes & offer suggestions. Beroya is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience genuine Middle Eastern hospitality & flavors. We left full, happy, & already planning to return. Highly recommended!

90% of people will like their food. For me, the food is ok but enjoyable. The reason for three stars is, it was overpriced.

Cheap Ingredients & not well trained Cooks:

The olive oil was bitter. Chicken & shrimp were overcooked. The portion of kebab or kafta was properly cooked but the others were overcooked. By the texture, it seems they buy minced meat instead of buying good quality cuts & mincing it themselves with the proper amount of fat. I could also tell by the lack of beefy flavor, it tastes very similar to local grocery store meat quality. Which is not ideal for an overpriced restaurant. The fish was perfectly cooked but then again, it was a cheap frozen fish fillet. Like the same one you can buy from Costco.

The only thing that was great is the warm fresh bread. But then again they use the cheap pita bread in the dishes.

I spent close to $400 for me & my wife with two kids. Can't complain about the portion even though it was less. Things are just more expensive here. It won't be the same type of portions when it comes to high-end restaurants in some European & middle East countries.

I really enjoyed the muhammara & hummus with beef. We also ordered the Kebab Khashkhash & Kebab Halabi along with a rice dish & baba ghanoush. The kebabs were slightly dry, but everything else was great. We especially enjoyed the atmosphere.

Absolutely the best Syrian restaurant in the Montréal Metro area, with kibbe neyye, shish kebabs, shish tawook, grape leaves, the food never ends, the atmosphere is amazing it's as if you are in Syria itself. 10/10 would recommend.

Très bonne nourriture, mais nous n'aimons pas certains plat (question de goût). Belle ambiance. Un peu cher, mais nourriture de qualité. Le shish kebab de filet mignon est définitivement à mettre sur votre liste.

A great lively atmosphere, but just be prepared that it's a little loud, not intimate. The food was fresh & very delicious. The fresh pita, vine leaves & chicken kebab were outstanding!

Food vs Value is horrible I've never paid 13.00 for hummus & 85.00 for 6 skewers of kebab. Basically 130.00 tax in for the above which is RIDICULOUS This place is way too expensive given the fact that there are so many other amazing Syrian/lebanese restos. Lylac in Laval is just as tasty & one third the price. For take out Aux VIEUX Masis is the reigning champ in terms of value & taste. Unfortunately I will never go back.

The night we went there, they had live music. It was amazing. You can expect everything from a middle eastern experience here. The cold mazes are amazing & their hot bread is so delicious. We enjoyed the kebabs, too.

Everything we ordered was delicious but the cherry kebab was a little too sweet for my taste.
