Review Summary

Overall Basilic is described as a tiny yet remarkable spot where home style cooking and attentive service shine, with the owner often handling everything himself to welcome guests, take orders, cook, and serve. Dishes highlighted include pasta with salmon, confit duck, a melt in the mouth lamb shank, and a delicious chicken supreme, with tiramisu described as amazing and the setting praised as cozy and intimate. Many reviews call Basilic a hidden gem offering generous portions and good value, and although the exterior is modest the quality and hospitality invite a return to try more dishes and explore new menu items, with some suggesting adding a bit of background music for a nicer ambiance.

We had dinner the first night of our vacation & had to bring the parents back for our last lunch in town. We were amazed at the beautiful food Reza created in his tiny kitchen & were overwhelmed by his hospitality. Reza, I'm sorry but we had to leave something for you. We greatly appreciated your kindness!

Reza is some kind of wizard, able to conjure food that is not only delicious but artful in the tiniest kitchen ever. Basilic constantly feels like a hidden gem in the truest sense of the term. It’s a “blink & you’ll miss it”, one man space in a part of Montreal most folks will never visit & I love it dearly.
