Review Summary

Basilic earns praise as a tiny, unpretentious spot serving delicious food, warm, attentive service and generous portions that offer good value, often described as a hidden gem. The owner handles many tasks personally, from greeting guests to cooking and serving, creating a caring and efficient atmosphere. Dishes highlighted across reviews include pasta with salmon, duck confit, a tender lamb shank and a superb chicken supreme, with tiramisu noted as a standout dessert; while the exterior is modest and some guests wished for some background music, the overall experience makes returning likely.

We had dinner the first night of our vacation & had to bring the parents back for our last lunch in town. We were amazed at the beautiful food Reza created in his tiny kitchen & were overwhelmed by his hospitality. Reza, I'm sorry but we had to leave something for you. We greatly appreciated your kindness!

Reza is some kind of wizard, able to conjure food that is not only delicious but artful in the tiniest kitchen ever. Basilic constantly feels like a hidden gem in the truest sense of the term. It’s a “blink & you’ll miss it”, one man space in a part of Montreal most folks will never visit & I love it dearly.
