Review Summary

Basilic comes across as a tiny, intimate spot where the food is consistently delicious and portions are generous for the price, with the owner handling everything from greeting to cooking and serving to deliver warm, attentive service. Fresh ingredients shine in dishes like pollo alla crema, the salmon pasta, confit de canard, a lamb shank that dissolves in the mouth, and a superb chicken supreme, with tiramisu topping off the experience. Described as a hidden gem, the place feels modest on the outside but delivers standout quality that often outshines pricier Italian spots, and salads arrive beautifully presented with cheerful service. A small terrace adds charm, and while a touch of background music could enhance the ambiance, overall the reviews indicate a strong desire to return to try new dishes and continue enjoying the consistent excellence.

We had dinner the first night of our vacation & had to bring the parents back for our last lunch in town. We were amazed at the beautiful food Reza created in his tiny kitchen & were overwhelmed by his hospitality. Reza, I'm sorry but we had to leave something for you. We greatly appreciated your kindness!

Reza is some kind of wizard, able to conjure food that is not only delicious but artful in the tiniest kitchen ever. Basilic constantly feels like a hidden gem in the truest sense of the term. It’s a “blink & you’ll miss it”, one man space in a part of Montreal most folks will never visit & I love it dearly.
