Review Summary

Reviewers describe Banh Mi Hanoi as a small, welcoming spot with fast service and generously filled, flavorful banh mi that many consider among Montreal's best, with standouts like the Hanoi and pork versions, and even a croissant banh mi; the menu also covers rice noodles and fresh sticky rice, praised for freshness and value. Yet several notes flag drawbacks, including inconsistent opening hours, issues such as a bone in the chicken banh mi, a stray green plastic thread found in a sandwich, and beverages that are overly sweet or poorly prepared, including bubble tea and matcha milk tea; overall, customers are impressed by taste, atmosphere and price, while suggesting improvements in beverage quality and consistency.

Cute little place. Super friendly staff.
We tried the grilled chicken sandwich/ banh mi. Which was good but nothing special
The'fruit tea' tasted like tea & not like the lychee fruit tea we wanted.
& strangely enough they sell paper towels & toilet paper next to the snacks

Banh mi is alright, they do put a fair amount of meat. Yet, there are tastier places for lower price.

We found a green plastic thread in the sandwich.. i think it comes from the cover of the sausage.. anyway..

For buble tea: just stay away... coffee milk tea is made from instant coffee.. & I can only taste sugar for the original milk tea although I asked for 50% sugar. I cannot taste tea in the drink. For $8 per cup, this is absolutely disappointing. After reading some'lowest' reviews, I realize I am not the first one to say this...

I just came back from Taiwan & Im so in love with the food there that i struggle to have the desire to eat anything else but food from there.

I ordered there signature Hanoi Banh Mi & Matcha Milk tea.

The Banh Mi itself is fine, tho the bread isn't has crunchy as the one you can have in Taiwan. The taste tho is very similar & reminescent of what I had over there. Its good. Could be better but good.

The Matcha milk tea tho is atrocious & undrinkable... even after adding 2 spoons of sugar, its not sweet at all. The black pearls were warm mixed with im a cold drink which adds to the weird feeling of it. (Tho, one time I had warm pearls after ordering from a 7-eleven & it was still yummy) The drink wasnt even liquid... but more like a granular goo.. almost as if you'd have mixed flour in water & tried to drink it.. & the matcha powder stays stuck in your mouth & dehydrates you... awful feeling & I cant bring myself to drink more then the 3 sips I already had..

Ive made myself homemade matcha latte in the past & it is not supposed to feel like drinking from a swamp like that one...

Really nice people, but I said not too sweet for my bubble tea (75%), & this is literally the sweetest thing I've ever gotten in my life. Undrinkable. For almost 10$ pretty disappointed.
