We hadn't been to Andalos since they moved into their newly-constructed digs right down the street from their old location. They did an amazing job with the new layout.
The massive, warehouse-like space is neatly divided into several sections: shelved products, prepared meals, a pizza/bakery counter & a manakish counter.
We went with the Oeuf patate man'ouché (so-so) & the Kafta fromage man'ouché (a hit).
We love Andalos on the weekends in the daytime. It's a great place to take your kids, have a bite, & do your groceries all at once.
The absolute best Lebanese fast cuisine in Montreal. The Pita wrapped sandwiches are to die for & extremely inexpensive. Try the Zaatar & cheese topped with fresh mint, tomatoes, onions, & pickled turnips. The desserts & pastries are world class. Their new location is huge & trendy.
No reviews for Andalos??? I haven't been to Andalos since it closed down right next door to its old location. This new building they have is much cleaner, brighter, & better ventilated, with parking right in front, on the side, or in the rear. Also, they now have a greater focus on the sandwiches & desserts than previously. Although their baked goods are great (pita, breads, pastries etc...) their sandwiches are truly fantastic! ("Zaatar" they call it)Thyme, cheese, fresh olives, mint, marinated beets, tomatoes, lettuce all rolled up in a (not sure what it's called but pretty much is a thicker pita bread, (a hybrid between a greek gyro bread & indian N'aan bread.) Their meat version of this was also great, & gently spiced to perfection ( manouche i believe its called). Definitely picking up a few Arabic words here & there helps...to get some extra toppings from the serving ladies :) . Healthy, cheap, & with a nice outdoor seating area! A nice improvement Andalos! Keep it up!
