pizza(97) poutine(22) burger(16) cheese(14) recommend(12) family(9) fresh(9) generous(8) group(7) chicken(7) grilled(7) pasta(7)Laurence was the best server I've had! She was so warm, welcoming, & attentive. She even kindly helped us practice our French! I've never left a review before but the atmosphere, food, & especially the service was so wonderful that I had to.
took our friend out to dinner, food was great. staff was super good & lauren took really special care of us. thank you Alto!
Pizza dough was tasty . Pizza sauce was so so. Overall, it's not bad
I ordered a large all dressed pizza from Altos & it arrived quickly. It's much heavier than a Dominos Pizza which tells you that they use a lot more cheese. Both the cheese & the crust are high quality. Great pizza. Cost $32 + tax + tip.
I ordered a Hawaiian pizza, but instead a Viva Italia was delivered to our table. I just went with it & wow it was good! Poutine was great as well
Amazing experience! Perfect spot for a comforting meal. The staff was incredibly welcoming, & every bite was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cozy, satisfying dining experience. Can't wait to come back!
Quick, polite service. We chose based off photos & reviews, & we we're not disappointed. The Ceasar salad was well dressed & zesty. We ordered a small but was a generous portion for 2 people. The meat lovers was flavourful & loaded with toppings. The dough is perfect. Everything was fresh. We will definitely return.
Absolutely love this place. Affordable & delicious food, fun playlists. Highly recommend.
Alto Restaurant, located on Parc Avenue in Montreal, is a staple for late-night dining, particularly popular among students in the McGill Ghetto. This long-established eatery (since 1987) serves up a variety of comfort foods, from Montreal-style pizza to burgers, poutine, & the unique "pizzaghetti." Despite a setback in 2016 due to a fire that destroyed the original location, Alto has bounced back with a loyal following & continues to offer a lively atmosphere. The restaurant is particularly known for its pizzas, including favorites like the "MACAttack," & its generous portions. It's also well-liked for its chili oil, which adds a flavorful kick to many dishes. Besides pizzas, the menu features options like hearty poutines & pasta dishes. Many patrons appreciate its friendly service & vibrant ambiance. The restaurant is open late, making it an excellent spot for a meal after a night out or a study break. Despite some minor critiques regarding portion sizes or toppings, Alto remains a beloved local spot.
Very cozy place with great food & the service was really nice, the Philly steak sandwich was great & the burgers too

Food used to be better. They used to have crispy french fries, like the ones you'd get at Costo, now they have the same generic QualiFresh fries that every restaurant in town has..big downgrade. Whoever made the call to switch, messed up. The attitude you get when you inquire anything is also off putting. I recently called to place an order for one of their subs. When I asked if I could have only cheese on one side of the sandwich, due to the fact my girlfriend is lactose intolerant, I was told it wasn't possible. Not possible to put cheese on only one side of the sandwich? Gimme a break, anything is possible. Especially for the price. You'd think they'd be able to accommodate their clientele instead of being sticklers for something as simple as "half cheese"...shame. Response to the Owner: I appreciate your reply, however I've been working in kitchens for over 15 years. Dealt with every kind of accommodation. You never tell a client you can't deliver on a simple request because you have too many orders? With other accommodations? You're telling me every order that was placed at 9pm Tuesday October 29th 2024 had special accommodations? & due to that your cooks couldn't handle cheese on one side of a sandwich? The best way to avoid errors is to not make it too hard for the kitchen staff? Common. That's part of the job. Mistakes happen sure, but that doesn't mean you should just not accommodate clients..that's how you lose them.
It was a nice place with good food 😊 Vegetarian poutine is not the best here but the chicken or meat one is good.
