Amigos is a popular downtown destination known for its lively atmosphere, generous portions, and flavorful Mexican-inspired dishes. Many guests enjoy the complimentary chips and salsa, while standout items like the fajitas, tacos, and various desserts consistently receive praise for their quality and taste. The restaurant is frequently highlighted as an ideal spot for celebrations and group gatherings, with many visitors appreciating the festive vibe and efficient service provided by the dedicated staff. 3 Amigos is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants (with amazing vegetarian options). The food is always fresh, flavorful, & worth every penny. I absolutely love their tostadas & chimichangas-they're packed with flavor & absolutely delicious. The portions are generous, the quality is excellent. Highly recommend😍!
As a person with a friend of Mexican 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽heritage, I wanted to learn his culture through having Mexican food🫔🌮. We had to grab antoher friend before we were allowed to enter the place🤨🤨. The food was absolutely delicious 🤤 & rather authentic too! While the place is packed & the staff seemed overworked, we were serviced in reasonable time. I recommend getting the steak burrito as it was flavourful & filling!
Nice food & ambiance. Friendly staff. You get a complimentary chips & salsa per table when seated. The menu features Mexican-inspired & Tex-Mex dishes & drinks. The menu is really diverse so there's something for everyone. Make sure to check out their different daily specials such as the 1$ tacos on Sundays. Although it gets pretty busy, I would recommend this place for a laidback food & drinks atmosphere.
Food was okay but mexican rice was a little too dry & some grains were rock hard. We ordered 2 apps 3 drinks, & 4 mains. The only thing bothering me is the server never checked if need anything or no we called him twice over for couple of things we needed but it seemed like we were being a bother to him. We still did our part by tipping for service we did not receive but in all seriousness Service could have been a bit better! May come back & try some other day. Even the checkout was rushed.
📌 The Quick Wrap
* Restaurant Name: 3 Amigos
* Cuisine/Type: Mexican Restaurant
* Location/Vibe: Lively & vibrant spot, perfect for a casual early dinner.
* The Standout Feature: Sizzling, ultra-smoky fajitas that arrive with an incredible table presence.
⭐ The Breakdown
🥖 The Atmosphere & Vibe
The restaurant maintains a vibrant, energetic Mexican venue atmosphere. Arriving for an early dinner sets a great tone for a casual, satisfying meal, though the entry experience lacked initial welcoming energy.
🍷 Food & Drink Highlights
* The Best Bite: Fajitas - Perfectly cooked & packed with great flavor. It arrives at the table sizzling like there is no tomorrow with an amazing smoky aroma. It makes for a wonderfully sloppy meal in the absolute best, most deserving way.
* The Supporting Cast:
* Finely Blended Chopped Salsa: Wonderfully executed with no large chunks, carrying a small, pleasant hint of spice that isn't overwhelming.
* Banana Rolls: An absolute highlight. Even for someone who isn't typically a fan of caramel, this flavor combination is wonderful & highly recommended.
* Nachos: While the chips are on the harder side, they still carry a great, authentic taste.
* Room for Improvement: The texture of the nachos leans a bit too hard, though the flavor still holds up well.
🛎? Service & Hospitality
The service was a bit of a mixed bag. Upon arrival, the initial greeting was disappointing; the host was chatting with another employee, made eye contact, but continued talking for a solid 3 minutes without acknowledgment. A simple'I'll be with you in two minutes' would have gone a long way instead of being ignored. However, once past the host stand, the rest of the staff turned things around completely-they were amazing, attentive, & incredibly friendly.
📝 The Final Verdict
This spot delivers incredibly flavorful, classic Mexican comfort foods like sizzling fajitas & standout desserts, making it a highly recommended stop for a casual dinner. While front-of-house greeting protocols could use a little tightening up to match the warmth of the rest of the team, the quality of the food & the friendliness of the floor staff make it well worth a return visit.
3 Amigos is a Mexican food spot in town. The burritos are really good, fresh, & filling. The Mango Daiquiri drink is also nice & refreshing. Overall, the food & drinks are enjoyable & I like going there.
We literally go to 3 Amigos every time we're in Montreal 😄 It's become a tradition at this point. Their linguini avocado pasta is CRAZY good! 😋 Like not what you'd expect from a Mexican spot, but somehow it's one of the best things on the menu. Always a fun, casual vibe & consistently delicious food! Definitely recommend it 👌
If you're looking for reliable Mexican comfort food in the heart of downtown, 3 Amigos remains a staple. We dropped in on a Wednesday evening & were thoroughly impressed by the value & efficiency, making it an ideal choice for a pre-show meal.
The Atmosphere & Service:
Despite it being a mid-week night, the vibe was lively. We were heading to a show & were quite conscious of the time, but the service was impressively quick. The staff was attentive & ensured we weren't rushing through our meal while still getting us out the door on schedule.
The Food & Drink:
• Margaritas: We started with the house margaritas, which were served in their signature'Sol' glassware. They were perfectly balanced-refreshing, tangy, & not overly sweet. The salted rim & lime garnish were the classic touch needed to kick off the night.
• Tacos: I opted for the classic tacos, while my friend had the shrimp fajitas. Both were delicious & hit the spot. The shells were crisp, the fillings were well-seasoned, & they came served with a generous side of Mexican rice, refried beans, & a fresh salad.
• The Experience: The portions are hearty, & the presentation is exactly what you want from a casual Mexican spot-vibrant & satisfying.
The Verdict:
The standout feature here is undoubtedly the unbeatable price. Finding a sit-down meal in Centre-Ville that is this tasty & affordable is a rarity.
Highlights:
• Value: A price point that is hard to beat in downtown Montréal.
• Speed: Ideal for diners on a schedule or heading to the nearby theaters.
• Quality: Consistently good comfort food & excellent cocktails.
Whether you're looking for a casual dinner with friends or a quick bite before a concert, 3 Amigos delivers on its promise of great food without breaking the bank. Definitely a'must' for a budget-friendly night out!
