Fresh food, cooked to perfection. Very generous portions. Excellent service, great for family outings. If you love greek food, this is a definite place to visit! We will definitely go back.
This restaurant is a typical Greek style diners, no decor whatsoever, but the food is fresh and good.
We were 4 people on a busy Saturday night, place was packed with mostly Greek diners, which is a sign the food is authentic and good.
Its a family style dining experience, where you order several dishes for everyone to share.
Appetizers: Octopus was good, Calamars also good, fried Zucchini were okay but too much batter and oily, the Tzatziki sauce was really thick and light , not too much garlic, simply delicious. The Greek salad was also very fresh and good.
We ordered a kilo of lamb for our main course; it was really good and more than enough for four people...with all the entrees and bread/tzatziki, this was plenty of food.
Desert: Loukomades ,which are fried pastry dough balls drizzled with Honey , warm and delicious.
Wine list was okay, prices were extremely reasonable, some starting at $30-$40
Price wise, it is very reasonable, approx $150 per couple with tax and tip.
I would recommend it for a casual night out with friends that have good appetites.
Went with the girlfriend and her parents for a nice night out. If you want souvlaki on pita, look elsewhere. But if you want authentic Greek food, then this is the place!
We had the octopus, taramosalata, tzatiki as starters and they were fantastic; the tzatiki was thick and tasty - not runny like you get at other places. Octopus with capers coulda been a meal unto itself.
Dinner was lamb (by the kilo) with sides of potatoes, rice and greek salad. I highly recommend trying the oven roasted potatoes with lemon...I prolly put on 5 lbs with those alone.
Dessert was the little dough balls (dunno what they're called) with honey and yoghurt...OMG, I stuffed myself.
Will never know if the food is good here, my family was forced to leave before we could try anything. The waiter was nice, but the owner was not. We got up and left when he decided to insult my young kids.
I am very surprised at the negative reviews here, I guess it is possible that they had a change of staff recently. But the food is amazing.
I have gone there 3 times in the past 3 months, all 3 times have been great. Once as a big group of friends, another time with my girlfriend and the last time alone as I was in the area.
By far the best Greek restaurant I have had the pleasure to dine at so far.
The waiters are fast and give excellent service. At one time I had this waiter, that was a little too fast(A fast talker also) but very professional and charismatic.
The owner is also really cool, often goes out to see if the clients are satisfied with their meal. He strikes me as the type of guy I would love to go out and have a beer with. Funny thing is he offered me a shot of Metaxa.
The food quality is far above the big chains. I know I will be going back there again soon.
What a waste of time, money and relaxed dining. On a very quite night, the service was far from adequate. The appetizer was forgotten to be ordered, waited an additional 15 from the original 10 minute wait time to be served. Then the appetizer was not cooked properly. An 18oz rib steak, medium rare, half was as ordered the other half to well done...how is that possible? The veal chop very small for the price, but was hard as a rock. To sliced fries, loaded with so much oil. This was definitely a very poor experience, Mentioned this event to many friends and therefore will never visit that location. We were happy to get the invoice and leave. Perhaps it was just an off night...you think?
Visited on a Thursday night. Food was delicious and authentic. As much as the food was excellent, it is totally unorthodox to have an understaffed restaurant like they have. The service was turtle slow and it's too bad for the waiter/waitress on staff because they're stuck to take care of seating, orders, takeout & billing. If you have 2+ hours to spare, go ahead and check this place out because it was good.
Best octopus in Laval by far. !!!!this place lacks on decor but makes up with the quality ingredients and amazing taste. All meats are cut in house. We even bought a bottle of their Greek olive oil. They treated us like family.
Found this restaurant online and chose it because the moussaka was supposed to be great. Unfortunately, it is available only on certain days so it is best to call ahead.
I had a chance to practice my Greek with the staff and that was fun!
I enjoyed the calamari. The salad was generous. Most guests enjoyed their dishes. Baskets of toasted (grilled) bread and butter were most welcome. The Skor Avalanche brought to me along with refrains of happy birthday was scrumptious!!!
Service was friendly and courteous. I plan to return when moussaka is on the menu. It is a complex dish which they make in a huge pan so they serve that on a day where they are expecting those clientele who will be asking for it. Understandable, because I once made it myself at home and a lot of work and steps are involved to come up with a really good one. I look forward to another visit there.
If I could give no stars for service I would have. I have gone to Tripoli MANY times over the years and I'm always disappointed. The food is amazing but not everyone has 4 hours to waste to get ONE meal.
They are beyond slow, they don't care that their service is slow and no matter how many conversations you have with the owner regarding needing more staff...it never changes.
I'm NEVER going there again. If you want more information just check out my blog listed in my profile.
WOW! the best of greek entrees and greek village salad to die for!check'em out!
