They advertise on the window of the restaurant with big letters Buffet at $11.99. They charge $13.00 each. They lost a customer for false advertising.
Good indian-pakistani restaurant.
Their BYOW policy is very convenient.
Their Naans are really good.
their has been a management change, the quality went down a bit but recently noticed that they started to fix the little issues.
I have never tried their buffet, so my review doesn't cover that part.
Food is just ok. The Service there is the worst on two different dates. Once we waited 45mins just to place are order I had to get the waiter. The second time was for pick up and I asked for sauce on the side and they said it was not POSSIBLE really.
to start with the service was very bad, waiter not friendly at all
anything you ask is not available, above that food was a disaster, Maybe the y changed the chef because it was good before, we ordered Butter chicken with white rice and fish kora instead of "chicken since they don't have it", the fish was good and well prepared but the chicken butter gravy was separating and very old not as creamy as it is supposed to be, chicken inside was very hard to chew also the rice was as old as the chicken, cold with traces of burnt bottom bits from scraping the bottom of pot, also it cost me an arm n a leg 75 including tip....... food was not worth the amount I paid..
in all this shall be my last visit, I strongly recommend against going there.
Good-quality Indian food in this West-Island reto, as evidenced by the weekend crowds that quickly fill up Tandoor et Grille.
Great butter chicken, chicken tikka and shahi paneer; fluffy naans, tatsy roti and papadams; delicious samosas, pakoras and chutneys.
The down side...less than quality wait-service during the weekends; expect longer-than-usual wait-times, and the occasional mix-up or forgotten dish. Another caveat: difficult if not impossible parking as the restaurant gets busy on the typical Saturday night rush.
Disappointing experience as food was very oily. Perhaps they should hire a quality control manager.
We ordered take out at this restaurant at least 5 times in the last year or so, especially when we had close friends visiting and we all preferred to stay in. Food has always been very good here. However, small but significant changes have occurred during the last months, and in the wrong direction. We used to love Tandoori chicken, the taste is still very good but the pieces have become smaller and smaller while prices went up. I can understand the price increase to some extent, but why decreasing the quantity? I don't know yet whether this is only happening with take out or has become a general rule. Another issue, more attention with orders is required. Last time we ordered mango chicken among other dishes, but was replaced with mixed vegetables while we paid for the chicken. We only realized when we got home. These are all things that might be remedied if there is an interest on this. Small things that may become significant when deciding where to dine.
The food was quite good. Unfortunately the service was terible. The waiter made several mistakes with our order and when confronted proceeded to blame us for his mistakes.....Too bad because the food was ok, however as a result of the terrible service cannot recommend it and will not return
We have been coming to the Tandoor Grille
since they moved & Karma closed.
All the food that we order is great. Chicken Pakora
on a bed of finely sliced onions & cabbage
perfectly fried as is the Lahori fish also served
on sliced cabbage & onions w/peppers.
The best Butter chicken & very well grilled Vindaloo
chicken & sizzling Seekh kebabs my favorite.
All the above dishes can be cooked to your
preference of heat or not.
We also love the Palak paneer & the Eggplant
purée. We've only tried these dishes over &
over again with the Naan bread, again among
the best always piping hot as is all the food.
We love the little copper pot presentations and the
servers are cheerful and the owner always
comes over to ask if everything is fine.
oh ya we tried the mango chicken a really good
dish & very different. If you like mango's
you have to try the Mango Lassi mmmm.
The decor, ambiance, cleanliness are excellent. The service was A+. The food was average. I've had better and I've had worse. If you want to do a group gathering I would recommend it. Prices are also very reasonable, considering it's BYOW .
Amazing food with fresh and spicy ingredients. Every week my husband and I go there. He always orders the curry lamb and I try an experimental dish. We are never disappointed. The only item that bothers me on the list is that the chicken with many sauce options is usually deep-fried and breaded first. So the chicken items on the menu taste almost like chinese food. Unless of course you get the tandoori or tikka chicken.. If you take the lamb or beef, they are not deep fried and are VERY delicious.
The waiting staff is young and very friendly. They always make sure you have enough water for the amount of spicy food you get. We love this place and have become regulars.
BEST INDIAN I HAVE HAD!!!! So fresh and high quality meats and seafood. Very authentic and it's bring your own wine. Can't lose.
Ambiance un peu cafeteriat. Les tables sont collé les une sur les autres. J'ai bien aimé mon plat d'agneau sauce épicé mais ma blonde elle n'a pas capoté sur leur poulet au beurre !
I like that the restaurant is located on a main street and that there's good parking. The service here is courteous, friendly, reasonably efficient and the portions are good. I had Dhal Soup (B), Chicken Biryani (A-), Lamb Paya (B+), Lamb Vindaloo (B). I'll definitely eat here again.
This place is very busy. The first impression was that with lots of Indian clientele, the food must be very good. It is extremely noisy and there seem to be lots of large groups all the time. Be prepared for no conversation during your meal. Tables are close together and packed row upon row, with nothing in-between, but room for the staff to move around. So don't go there expecting privacy or anything romantic.
The food is good, sometimes very good, but not "Great", "spectacular" or "perfect", hence the 3 stars. The quality of the ingredients is obviously on the "economy" side of the spectrum. For example, we had two kinds of chicken in our meal and it was very dry in both entrees, including the butter chicken.
It's an OK place, but don't let the number of Indians dining there fool you: it is not nearly the be-all, end-all of Indian Cuisine. You can find much better downtown Montreal, for example.
My friends and I were pleasantly suprised with this restaurant which has moved to the former B-Sweet location on Sources. Our party consisted of 6 adults and 6 kids. We were given a private room at the back which suited us fine. We ordered a variety of items from the menu and mounds and mounds of nan bread (very annoying that each order of nan bread yields only 2 pieces!). Four members of our party had NEVER eaten Indian food so it was important to us that they enjoy their experience. They are now butter chicken lovers! The vegetarian samosas (appetizers) were very good too.
My Husband and I drive all the way from Laval for take out once a week. Their butter chicken is out of this world, to say the least... We've tried many other dishes and they are just as good.
We've been to several Indian restaurants but we keep on coming back to this one. The price is right the portions are great. The service is equally good.
Now that they moved we'll certainly be paying them a visit to eat in.
