About

Sous le Palmier specializes in the robust flavors of authentic Jamaican and Caribbean cuisine, emphasizing traditional preparation techniques. The menu features staples such as jerk chicken, slow-cooked oxtail, and curried goat, all seasoned with a complex blend of aromatic island spices. Side dishes include staples like rice and peas, fried plantains, and festival dumplings that round out each plate. The interior setting reflects a straightforward, casual atmosphere designed to focus entirely on the delivery of these hearty, flavor-forward dishes. Customers encounter a menu centered on deep, savory profiles derived from scotch bonnet peppers, pimento, and thyme. This establishment provides a consistent exploration of Caribbean culinary traditions through standard island recipes served in an unfussy, accessible environment that prioritizes ingredient quality and authentic seasoning methods over decorative presentation.

Sous le Palmier is widely recognized for its authentic and delicious Haitian cuisine, with the griot and goat platters frequently highlighted as standout dishes featuring generous portions and excellent seasoning. Patrons consistently praise the friendly service, the welcoming atmosphere, and the pleasant outdoor terrace that makes for a great dining experience, though some isolated feedback points to occasional inconsistency in portion sizes for specific menu items. The food is always good but why did I place an order for a fish dinner today & got over charged for the meal & delivery 🤔.. I'm really upset I couldn't even enjoy my dinner . This is unsatisfactory... even if I get it credited to the next meal this should never occur ...

This place is overall good, but there is some basic things they are doing completely wrong 1- No second lines when you call, so if they are already on the phone when you try to call, too bad. When you are indeed able to talk to them, the service is not top tier. English or french, same outcome. 2- Extremely slow to prepare the food, I called 10 minutes in advance for a pickup, ended waiting 20 minutes inside. 3- The food quality is not consistent, 75% of the time It's delicious 10/10. The remaining 25% is the food being too dry or not tasting fresh. I often have my porc grio being way to dry. Overall I really like it, but those first 2 points are basic operational problems that should not even be existing in the first place in 2024.
